This is the Patriots Training Camp Cast. The Patriots Training Camp Cast is your source for all the news from Patriots training Camp. Well, I do still watch the news. Practice is over, but the writers of Patriots dot com have you covered what I miss yesterday? Now here to review today's practice. The writers of Patriots dot com. All right, it's Friday night late. We just got off the field. This might do so. Paul Pirello here to wrap up

the practice number nine of training camp inside the stadium. Paul, we we got faked out a little bit. We were thinking maybe it might be a little different. They had some pads on, even though Bill Belichick had said this was about kind of the going through the motions, learning about, you know, how everything goes on game day. Turns out though the pads maybe not that necessary. It was it

was once again more of kind of a glorified walk through. Yeah, it's what we've seen the last several years, at least as far back as I can remember, with this practice. And you mentioned the one difference it was they were dressed in full pads, but there was no contact. It was a blue white scrimmage at a walk through tight pace. Um, you know, some entertainment I think for the fans that were here, um, you know some you know, a lot of obviously a lot of throwing when you're you're not um,

you know, going full contact. Nothing too noteworthy. Uh, maybe a little skirmish, you know in the in the middle with Justin Harran and josh Oocha both being told to leave by Bill Belichick. Um. But for the most part, I think good, you know, good fun all around, and you know, they got some work done in a walk through kind of setting. Yeah, a lot of autographs as well. For the fans still out there as we speak, people screaming at him, including one Jets fan who was here.

Some for some reason it felt that they need to come to the Patriots and stating practice. But a little bit of news though. We saw Gilani to Vay out there. He was not dressed, but I was on the sideline. Had a rap on his lower right legs. So I don't want to speculate what the injury was, but at least it gives you a hope that it wasn't you know, a major out here. It's on his feet, you know, so I think there is a reason for optimism. Now.

He won't speculate any any more than that. But the flip side of that coin, Matthew jude On not not here tonight, not spotted. There were some other injured players, you know, Dalton Keene that were you know, Jabrill Peppers that were there, but you know, not participating. We didn't even see Judean, So I think, you know, yesterday we

thought maybe that was a veteran rest day. But but but maybe our radars up a little bit now on jobsolutely that's you know, something to keep an eye on, and we'll we'll be monitoring that as the next week comes. I can't believe we're already sort of into week two now of training camp. Nine practices now tonight. In the books, so Judea not there. You mentioned Dalton Keene, Jabrill Peppers. I would think that that's more of a maintenance kind of thing for Peppers. For Mondre Stevenson, who I want

to say, maybe two practices ago. I had sort of asked you and Andy Hart when we were just sort of watching practice, and it was the last time I remember him getting a carry. Um, So I think it's been several practices now as I spit all of myself that he hasn't really been overly involved in tonight. He wasn't. He wasn't in uniform, so you know, he's, um, you know, he's dealing with something. I don't know how significant it is, but it's certainly something that's kept him out of the

practice routine for now four or five days. Yeah, a little unfortunate, just team mean, he looks in real good shape and you know, kind of hoping he'd be able to build on things. One play to point out, I mean, again not not totally competitive, but I thought Ryan Hoyer, you know, hitting DeVante Parker deep was kind of a nice moment, and I don't know how competitive it was, but it was later on a deep crosser to Kendrick Bourne,

really really nice throw. You're you're right. I mean, I can sort of downplay the result of the play, but the execution is still, you know, part of the equation. And there was still some plays for the for the most protect that kind of looked clunky on on for both all the quarterbacks, right Mac Jones, Brian Hoyer and Bailey Zappy. I think there was um a lot of moments that we've seen in the practice field, those two kind of from Hoyer toward the end there they flashed

and looked like quote unquote Patriots type place and fell place. Yeah, I mean having the perch that we had too. It was it was apparent a couple of times that you know, guys were open. You know, there were some places. It just still doesn't feel like, you know, Mac is quite locked in on things yet. So this is Friday night. We're not sure exactly what's happening Sunday yet. We're a waiting word from from the Patriots as to when practice

may or may not be on Sunday. Of course, Richard Seymour is being inducted into the Hall of Fame tomorrow Saturday, so that's something to be aware of. Of Of course, Bill Belichick probably headed to Canton, Ohio for that, So assuming we might very well be back here Sunday for another practice, if not definitely, Monday Tuesday are on the schedule open to the public. If you're around here, come on down, say in time nine thirty. Practice times gates will open

at eight. So Monday Tuesday, it was the next two that will be open to the public, So you might want to get down here for those big week coming up. First game of the same season, the New York Giants game week here we are just like that. So that'll do it for us here tonight Friday night at Gillette Stadium, and that We'll talk to you guys soon with another training camp cast.
