This is the Patriots Training Camp Cast. The Patriots Training Camp Cast is your source for all the news from Patriots Training Camp. Well, I do still watch the news. Practice is over, but the writers of Patriots dot com have you covered what I miss yesterday? Now here to review today's practice the writers of Patriots dot com. All right, after a couple of days off, we are back at it here today on Monday for practice number eleven, and guys,

a little bit of a tune up session today. We're getting ready for joint practices coming against the Carolina Panthers over the next two days. So this felt a little bit like they were taking what they did maybe from the game and getting things kind of in order overall. So not a totally uneventful practice, but we are here to sum it up for you. This is Mike do So, joined by Paul Pirillo, Evan Lazar Patriots dot Com. And

I don't know any any big takeaways from today. It felt like it was kind of a clean it up day, as they say, Yeah, a little bit of a clean

it up day. But I did think as we go on here, we're starting to see the offense add a little bit more window dressing to what they have installed early on in camps, and more motion, some different types of players that have a little bit more deception or misdirection involved in them, I thought on Thursday night in particular, which you'd expect in a preseason game, and you don't want to put too much on tape. Yeah, they run game. They only average two point nine yards per carry, but

it was really pedestrian run stuff. They weren't really trying to pull a fast one on the Giants at any point or didn't really have much play action, much motion, nothing like that. So we saw a little bit more of that today. I think we're continuing to see a little bit more of that each day as we ramp things up here, and hopefully he'll see a little bit more of that in the joint practices. Yeah, I would

agree with Evan. I was just sort of tracking some of the personnel's stuff on the first team period that they had and you know, it would be three wides, one tight, then you know, would go two by two and then sometimes you know the two tight ends would be out there alone, and there was a lot of

different stuff. I thought, specifically for John H. Smith, you know, he was kind of, you know, a lot of bubble screens to him stuff out of the backfield, and then they would get Hunter Henry down the seam, which is a play that you and I might have been looking for from mac Jones. They were able to connect on one of those. So I thought there was a lot of different formation work today, and then they did obviously

a lot of situational work as well. Yeah, a little bit of a slower pace, but I thought, you know, in terms of the slightly competitive stuff, Nelson Aglore again, you know, showing up with a couple of nice catches. Also, Jabrill Peppers a little bit more involved. Looked like he had an interception there down to the end. Again, this was not full speed or anything close to it. I think though. One of the interesting things maybe to comment on now is just kind of the attendance. And we

didn't see Isaiah Win out there. He's been gone for a couple of practices. Justin Harn who had a bit of a rough outing on Thursday night, he you know, a couple of penalties and also it looks like he might have sustained a little bit of a something and he was not their president practice. Also Malcolm Butler, who played plenty against the against the Giants the other night along with Jiluan Williams. So two cornerbacks too often of

tackles out. Definitely something to watch Evan with the tackles, and it looks like Yadi could just maybe getting a little bit of a a shot right now. Yad he could juice right now at right tackle or Coja Cojested could juice. I think there's a good matchup for the offensive line in general coming in here with Carolina, a really legitimate Carolina defensive front and Brown in the middle. You have Brian Burns on the edge, is one of the better speed rushers in the league, so they're gonna get after

it against his Patriots offensive line. And if it's just at right tackle, that will be a really good look for him to see how he handles that. He has some moments where you say that that's really good, and then he has some really bad moments too. There's a lot of inconsistencies to his game's peaks and valleys on the tape, but there are moments where you say, if he could just do that more consistently, he'd be a

really good NFL offensive lineman. They just have it looking for that consistency, and this will be a real true test for him with Carolina coming in. Yeah, what about for you, Paul, anything here in the closing moments that that you're excited or interested to see? Yeah, I mean, obviously, just like all the players said, you know, and to even the coaches, because we got a chance to talk to the assistant coaches before practice. Just the opportunity to

work against the different scheme. I think Bill use the term, you know, it sort of cuts back on the predictability, which I think has been part of the offensive struggle. Is just the amount that the defense is aware of what's going on. So I'm looking forward to the next two days. I'm sure they'll be you know, at a lot of full padded work, a lot of contact work tomorrow, even the individual stuff you'd like to see them going against guys on another team that maybe aren't is familiar with,

you know, the little nuances of each player. And after you know, twelve days of practice that we've seen you know, countless other days that they've done, I'm sure the defense and the offensive sort of know each other enough and they're done with going against each other. Yeah, Well, Patriots, unfilter will be coming at you live from those two practices, so be sure to tune in if you can't make

it down here to training camp. It's sure to be a you know, a great couple of days of practice with the other team here and I mean just tons of competitive stuff to watch, so tune in the Patriots Unfiltered and of course we will be back after practice with a quick recap of these campcasts, which I hope hopefully are useful to you guys as a quick sum up of the practice. So that'll do it for the three of us. We will see you tomorrow after the

next practice. Thank you for downloading this podcast, Subscribe on Apple, Google Play, and everywhere else you listen. Like the show, please rate and review us.
