Hello, and welcome back to path to peace with Todd Perelmuter. I'm your host, Todd Perelmuter. And today the question is, what is a good way to combat self loathing?

0:43
The cause of all suffering, is really desire for something to be different than it is currently.

0:56
That's not to say that working towards changing something that is currently the way it is, means there will be suffering. But all suffering ultimately comes from the desire for something.

1:15
And in self loathing, it's often a desire to be, you know, a different person or to be different or in a different situation, or it's a great discontent that overtakes a person.

1:38
And so what you really have to do right away is start accepting, you have to really look at what you want, and are desiring to change. Accepting what you have and where you are currently, and turning those wants into actions.

1:59
Because you can do something about it. But most importantly, it has to come from the right frame of mind in that frame of mind has to be acceptance, positivity, an attachment to any outcome. And just turning this into tasks to be done with presence, calm, and just flowing through it.

2:28
The start of acceptance is really the start of looking closely at what we don't want to see and what we don't like and have a hard time accepting, because that's what needs to be accepted. And so we have to look in those dark corners and just shine them so brightly with love and self love. That there is no more dark corners, and you have to really do some hard looking and do some hard lovin but it will pay off. It feels amazing.

3:15
And it is the best thing you can do to combat self loathing. Nobody is perfect. No matter what. No matter, no matter how rich they are. Nothing no one has a perfect life. No one's a perfect person.

3:34
We're all doing our best. We all make mistakes. There's no reason for self loathing. There's no reason to be harder on ourselves than we would be of anyone else.

3:47
Go easy on yourself. Keep doing your best. Peace and love.
