Welcome to Round five of the Parenting Roundabout podcast for the week of May eight. I'm Nicole Ridicks. I'm here at Terry Morrow Hello, and Catherine Heleco Hello. Today we're taking a break from talking and complaining and obsessing and instead shouting out things that other people are doing that we think you'll find as useful or enjoyable as we do. We call this our Roundabout round up. So I will start first by mentioning a new series that my husband and I have

been watching, and Terry, close your ears. If you don't want me to talk about AI rocking in the corner, you go ahead. There's a fun little series called Upload on Amazon and Amazon Primer Amazon, but it's an Amazon produced series, and it's a futuristic show about people who when they pass away there I guess, their memories, their their soul, who they are can get downloaded, and then family can then pay to have them uploaded to a virtual kind of I don't know, I don't want to say heaven,

but some kind of virtual living space where they can exist and then the people, you know, living people can go and go for a visit to this place and they can interact and so there's the ideas that you know, your life is extended in this virtual world and it can be skin fine, right, it's all think about. But anyway, the story, as I mentioned, is very light. It's um you know, if it's not, you

don't have to think too hard. It's it's kind of fun to see what you know, how they've taken the show and what things you know to think about in the future. So yeah, that's called upload. So that's my little shout out. So Terry, what do you have? Well, as we discussed earlier in the week, I had surgery on my neck which is going to leave me with a incision that I need to keep out of the sun for a while until it's it's all healed up because it will be new

skin. And from what I understand, if if you get too much sun on it, it's going to turn red and it's going to stay red. So you're supposed to keep it covered, keep put things on it to keep it from the sun and whatever. So I went and purchased for myself a couple of pieces of sporty neckwear and from a company called cool a Bar.

I actually got it through Amazon, but they have their own website. They have a section on their website that says cover your neck, So whether you wish to do that for scar preservation reasons or just because your neck ain't looking so good anymore, you can have a whole section and these the fabric they use for these neck coverings has an SPF protection in it. So I got myself a gator which you can also pull up over your face if you need a mask, but I shall just be using it to cover up my neck.

And also a performance sun bandana. I am using that right now. What even though the bandage is still on, I'm putting it over and feeling very sporty about myself, look like a rich lady about to go out and watch a polo or something nice. I say to my daughter, We're going out for a walk, darling. My sporty little bandana around my neck with the knots sort of artfully arranged, and my my swollen and bruised up neck mercifully out of sight. So we are going to be in times of year

winning long sleeve turnal like is not going to be ideal. So this is my neck covering of choice for the next however long I shall be, I shall be covered but fashionably and sun safely. I should be considered a coastal grandmother. Yeah, yeah, it's that sort of look. And uh, you know what, I don't mind. It ain't too bad. I'm an old gal now I can. I can get away with neckwear like that rock

the Neck Qua how about you all about the newhere? Well, I'll go back to TV and uh, like Unicole, this is a show that I'm watching with my husband and there are fewer and fewer things that we both want to watch, so it's uh, it works well. And it is the latest version of Top Chef, which is Top Chef World All Stars. So it's they're in London and the chefs are from the Top Chef universe from all

around the world. So they have the winner from Top Chef France, the winner from Top Chef Brazil, UM, some finalists from the USA and winners from USA, finalists from Germany, UM, winner of Top Chef Middle East. You'd be a finalist from Thailand, like all around the world, and

it's so you get And there's a one woman who she won. She was a finalist in Top Chef Italy. But she's originally from Congo and English is her seventh language seventh and she's doing this whole show, you know, in English, and she just learned English like four months ago, after having you know, grown up with two or three languages and then learning of two or three more and then finally she learned English to do this. So it's pretty

it's pretty amazing. So it's all yours to be on the Top Linguist Show. Yeah, I mean it's all your your Top Chef you know stuff, your quick fires and your challenges and you know, seeing it's set in London, so like they're going to all these places in London. They even went to the place where Down to Nabby is filmed and they had to have a give a picnic, you know, present a picnic and so all kinds of stuff like that. So I recommend it. It's it's a lot of fun

just meeting all these people and seeing what they do. So that is Top Chef World All Stars. It is going on right now. It's probably two thirds of the way through the season maybe, so you could always you could

always catch up. And that's it for another week of parenting roundabout. If you missed any of our earlier episodes this week, look them up on Speaker, Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music, or wherever you get your podcast to hear what we have to say about what's new with us people complaining about kids and
