Welcome to Round five at the Parenting Roundabout podcast for the week of May twenty ninth. I'm Nicolertics that I'm here with Catherine Heleco Hello, and Terry Morrow. Hello. Today we're taking a break from talking and complaining and obsessing and instead shouting out things that other people are doing that we think you'll find as useful or enjoyable as we do. We call this our Roundabout round Up.
So I have a special event coming up this week. My daughter is graduating from university and I yea and I needed a pair of shoes to go with a dress that I bought, and so good old Amazon pulled through again and I found myself a cute little sandal with a low block heel, which is what I was looking for. So it's not like a high heel, because I don't do high heels, but it's a nice low and cushionnaire is the keyword. It's it's got this little patting on it. And they're very cute
and stylish and relatively kind of cool, like as a trendy. So I'm excited to wear them. I hopefully they'll hopefully they'll be as comfortable as what they were when I walked from my kitchen to my dining room. I mean, so that's what I have this week, Catherine, how about you? I also have a pair of shoes that I found on Amazon. I don't
even know how, Like I didn't was I looking. I don't even know, um because I was ordering some other stuff, and I thought, you know, what I don't have is just like kind of a fairly neutral little
summer sandal. Because I had this pair of silver sandals that I wore with everything, just really just flat sandals, but you know, slightly dressing, and they were falling apart, and I finally forced myself to throw them away because if I kept if I kept them in my closet, I kept thinking that I could get away with wearing them, even though I really could not
because they were falling apart. And there was another pair I had another pair of like sort of like dressy ish flip flops, you know, like the flip flop style, but like a nice leather shoe that I last summer literally fell apart on my feet when I was in Peoria on a college visit. So so to replace both of those, I found these. They're called gladiator
braided sling back sandals. That's how they are described on Amazon, from a brand called great On, which sounds like somebody in a non English speaking country trying to come up with a good brand name for their Prada. But anyway, inexpensive, you know, cute little sandals and so far, so good. I'd worn them a couple of times and they're holding together and they look good and they're comfortable. Nice. So Nicole and I are both nice shoe twins. Yes, Terry, how about you? I have no shoes to
talk about. No shoes. I purchased any shoes in a quite a while now, nothing new on the shoe front. But this morning I was trying to figure out what I wanted for breakfast, and I kind of decided I wanted to pop tart and I was looking at the strawberry pop tarts and my son came up to me and says, no, these are the ones you want. These are great, and he pulled out a box of brown sugar cinnamon pop tarts. I don't know if this is a new thing. I
think I've had brown sugar pop tarts before and they were just fine. But these have like a frosting on them that is sort of cinnamony, and honestly, I had flashbacks while I had it, I toast, had him toast it for me and then bring it to me, and I had flashbacks of my mom's cinnamon toast when I was a kid, with like generous amounts of butter and cinnamon and sugar on it. That's exactly what it tasted like to me. Took me back, took me back to the old days, and
it was just quite delicious and you know, highly recommendable. So as my son did for me, I will say for you, these these are the ones you want, the brown sugar cinnamon pop tarts. Eat them. You'll like them, you will nice, sound good. And that is it for another week of parenting Roundabout.
