And you know it ain't too late for you to get your romance off of Valentine's Day by getting you a new set of sheets from SheetsandGigglescom . Go ahead and do that and we got some links in the show notes .
If you would like to get a little discount on behalf of Parampied , you're welcome . You deserve it . Treat yourself , treat your girl , treat your dude . Do what you got to to make this live thing happen . But of course , you know we had a Super Bowl this weekend and you'll have to excuse me .
I know you probably showed up for politics , but your boy over here is also a sports ball nerd , so bear with me for a minute . My boy , jordan , did it . I mean , patrick , my homes did it again . He showed up to get the two Pete done .
Maybe you can see if you'll turn it around next year and pull off the three Pete like the Bulls of old from the 90s , from , I'm sure , a lot of your childhoods as well as mine . Oh , you know , there's a lot of argument out there about like who's the best quarterback to ever do it . I guess it's really not that much of a competition .
It's like two names Patrick , my homes , tom Brady . You feel about that however you want to .
I typically look at it like this like you know , tom Brady's got an incredible resume , but when you turn on him , tom Brady highlights and you put them next to them Patrick my home's highlights Like oh , there's clearly only one of these dudes that is the most impressive guy we've ever seen at the position . It is Patrick Holmes .
And like the hate comes from like this , and you probably don't remember this , but I remember this . When I was young , you'd be like Jordan , out here putting up 36 points a game and like the media and the commentators would be hating on him . They'd be like , oh , he's just a scorer , he's a ball hog , he's not even that good . Like blah , blah , blah .
Teams don't win . And it's like , why are you hating on greatness in the moment ? His career ain't even over yet and he out here doing incredible things , like putting up defensive player of the year performances , while also like winning the scoring title . And then , you know , you get a couple of rings under your belt and by the time , sauce ain't done .
Like , actually , yes , that is the most impressive thing we ever seen , even though a lot of people would be like , well , you know , tom Brady beat Patrick Holmes in the playoffs twice . Okay , jordan never beat Bird and never be magic . We all turn on those Jordan highlights and we're like , oh yeah , there's no question , nobody else was doing it like this .
So apply that same logic to what you're seeing from Patrick Holmes . Like , just enjoy the greatness while you're living through the history of it , because you know , once it's over , you know we'll probably never see anything like it again , although , again , you know , a lot of people were like oh , tom Brady , nobody ever reached that in here .
Patrick Holmes is halfway there already . Also , another thing I guess this has more political implications from from the Super Bowls A lot of the backlash online from the white right wing , the white wing . I do that all the time . It's like a slip of the tongue but it's like so accurate . No offense to all my you know , white folks out there .
Y'all are separate and apart from the white people . Just , you don't have to be like I'm not the white guy . Look , if you're not , if you're not the guy , you know we ain't talking to you .
But yeah , the right wing , not jobs , and their outrage over the black national anthem and like this is again why we not only do we need black history month , we just need everybody to like we need to teach black history in schools like this .
This raging against the idea that somehow black history is an affront to American history is is whack and absurd , because black Americans are Americans , is American history , it's all the same history .
They just don't like to teach people the part that makes white people look bad , which I totally don't understand , because , like , if you don't tell them hey , this is bad , then what you're really encouraging to do them to do is repeat it . But yeah , again , like this idea that black history is somehow not meritorious . I just find it to be absurd .
Like again , like if you're white and you , like I don't know , weren't taught what you consider to be a fairly accurate display of what American history is , considering what you know now that you've become an adult , and like the internet is widely available , you don't look back at the things that they didn't teach us in schools as it pertains to the way black
Americans were treated and be like well , damn , all white people are bad . You should be like , no , we can be . We can do better than that . That's like the whole point . Right , the Germans out here , like amen , the Nazis was bad . We teach our kids like this Nazi shit .
Not only did our predecessors engage in this bad behavior , but like we're not gonna engage in this bad behavior , like that their actions don't reflect on us in any way whatsoever . And not only that , we're gonna go out of our way to make sure we don't repeat those same mistakes .
I don't know why so hard for Americans to follow in the same footsteps , but again , so this outrage and backlash against the black national anthem like why do you need black , black history being taught to people is like . Well , first of all , I just ask yourself , I wonder why there might be a black national anthem . They even thought about that ?
Huh , hadn't even like coming to the like . No one's even asked the question why the black national anthem might exist . And Again , it's part-time . We don't got like we don't have time for an entire history lesson .
But go back and look at when the song Lift Every Voice was written by who , and look at the lyrics and why it became popularized and how it became popular before the national anthem was even , you know , the American national anthem . That's a little black history month lesson for you to go check that out and look .
This is not me and I'm not trying to replace the national anthem , as people are like accusing us of . It's just , oh man , as much of black culture as America is willing , has been willing to Steal , especially in the music department , over the course of American history . You think maybe you'd want to , I don't know .
Just open your horizons and I'm not railing against it . This is like coming from a dude , like I don't think the national anthem .
The Star Spangled Banner is a particularly interesting song , like , just like as a , as a musical experience from like the , the , the music , the lyrics and the melody , and , and I can say , in a national anthem , like again , this is coming from something like I can I do a pretty good national anthem and if you don't believe me on that , I'll break it out real
quick . Hold on a second . Oh Say , can you see ? Can you see by the dawn's early night ? Why so frowningly hailed ? Hey , that's why lights last gleaming . You see what I'm saying . It's not that I don't have an appreciation for the national anthem . I understand music , but Live Every Voice is just a better song . It's a more pleasant song .
You can spruce up the national anthem a little bit , throw a little twang on it or whatever , and make it kind of jam out , and I'm not trying to replace the national anthem . It's okay to celebrate multiple facets of your heritage . If you're born in America , it's totally fine .
I don't understand People's like and really the problem is is black Like when at the hockey game and they sing in a Canadian national anthem ? Ain't nobody tripping , that's all it is . It's just , you know , another example of the multi-layered and multi-faceted racism that exists in our country , just rearing its ugly head Unendingly Non-stop . It's fucking exhausting .
But hey man , what can you do ? Start a brain to move down . But anyway , on to other things .
So last week , of course , special counsel Robert Herr , who was tasked by Merrick Garland to investigate President Biden's potential mishandling of classified information contained in a number of documents , that investigation , which we got word that he was concluding his report and would be making it available to Congress , merrick Garland and that report would be made public ,
which of course did happen . Over the course of the weekend . There was a lot of controversy about some of the language in the document , considering that he wasn't bringing any charges whatsoever against Joe Biden or any of his aides or anyone in the government , or just in any one period , no charges whatsoever .
Yet he decided to include some very charged language about Biden's mental state , his mental acuity , his mental faculties . That seemed largely irrelevant to the matter at hand as it pertains to the classified information or the handling of it . We can just like cut to the chase here .
He used language that would make it appear as though Biden doesn't have the ability to the mental , mental faculties to be president of the United States commenting on his memory , saying that he wasn't able able to remember what appear to be significant details , even going so far as to suggest that Biden couldn't remember the date of his son dying .
What the fuck that's got to do with the classified documents ? I don't know . Bo Biden's death . Was that classified information ? No , why are you putting that in the report ? We all know why he's putting that in the report . He's a right wing nut job . He's one of the two Trump holdovers in the DOJ that Mary Garland appointed to investigate this matter .
Because Mary Garland has this thing where he wants to appear as though he is not making any decisions based on political motivations , except when you like , go out of your way to find one of the few Trump dudes left in the department and you put that guy in charge of an investigation into Joe Biden .
That looks like you're responding to political pressures , right Like this . This need , this feeling as though you need to overcompensate for the fact that you're a Democrat , or rather appointed by Democrat , is fucking insane . Like we've only had Republican special councils , no matter what party the president is affiliated with the special prosecutor .
I guess it's different statute Now , but at the time Bill Clinton was investigated by a special prosecutor who was Republican Bill Clinton was Democrat special council who's investigated Joe Biden here , robert , her Republican special council , who's investigating multiple instances of potential crimes committed by Donald Trump .
Jack Smith , see like , see a recurring pattern here is it's almost as though , as though Democrats can't be trusted to handle politically sensitive investigations , even though what we know from experiences that , like these Republican special prosecutors and special investigators typically clown , shows .
I mean Jack Smith aside , this is the thing about the report by her right . If you compare it to special counsels Robert Mueller's report , you're like , oh , this is fucking insane .
Mueller didn't use any of this kind of charge language whatsoever in regards to Donald Trump , even though in that report he concluded a number of things like , mostly being that a number of crimes were committed , but largely he couldn't specify that , since he wasn't able to charge Trump himself , you know , because of Department of Justice legal counsel recommendations
saying that a sitting president couldn't be charged . And this is a report where Mueller indicted a number of people people close to Trump , for that matter even had cooperating witnesses and shit . Just the idea that her can put out this political hijab is fucking insane , like and we all know what's what's Biden's one political weakness ?
We all know it the perception that he is too old to do the job .
And it's quite funny how a clown show appointed by Donald Trump to the Department of Justice , who happened to be left over , decides to take the one route to try and because he couldn't endide Biden to try and take the political pot shot that he knew all the media would pick up because it's it's not even coded language at this point .
It's not even a dog was fucking born .
Yeah , this dude is like and I'll tell you what he's doing right , he is either auditioning for a position as Trump's next attorney general , should he happen to win the election , or he's trying to get his retirement set up for when he's out of office , like all of the right wing media or the conservative law firms , think tanks or whatever , because he did them
this , this favor and , you know , use his position at the department to laundry launder this fucking hit job of Joe Biden , this fucking charge language , like they're . They're going to be quite grateful to him forgiving them the news father and award him with some kind of lucrative no work job .
It's one of the two , because that's what they do Now typically I am I won't say necessarily that I'm a Mary Garland fan per se , but I am largely in the position of defending almost everything that Mary Garland has done because there's one , typically a reasonable explanation for what he's done and the timing of it and , to like all of the things that most people
can play a complain about , largely the delay in investigating trumps and the higher ups involve a January 6th was largely out of his control , right , like well , not even just largely out of his control , but like in total ignorance of the steps that he did take to proactively make sure the investigation proceeded in a timely fashion , given the circumstances because I
think a lot of people forget like his appointment was delayed . You know , you're like , oh , january . Rather you're like , oh , biden took over in January of 2021 . Why didn't Mary Garland and start the investigation in January of 2021 ? Well , because he couldn't get confirmed until March .
That's because the Senate was ironically split 50 50 , but Kamala Harris gave control of the Senate to the Democrats .
But because it was a weird split , mitch McConnell took that opportunity to delay handing over control of the Senate to Democrats for as long as possible for the express purpose of slowing down the confirmation of Biden's appointees , especially at the Department of Justice . So Mayor Garland was already two months behind when he got on the job .
And then , of course , there's this other fallout just from four years of the Trump administration that people don't talk or talk about Right , like the dude set around complaining for years about the fucking deep state . What do you think he was doing while he was in office ?
Appointing his own deep state Right so that when he left office he would have people in place to sabotage whatever the next administration was trying to do . And that's practically what happened .
He had some clowns in there who were , who took some liberties that I would say aren't necessarily criminal I flip a coin on that but to obstruct the investigation in ways that wouldn't draw attention by , I don't know , you know , briefing Mayor Garland about the status of the Department of Justice investigations of the January 6th insurrection , but not mentioning Trump
or anyone around him or whatsoever , making it appear as though it was like a totally disorganized operation and the only only the people who were at the Capitol that day were involved in any way . And we know that wasn't the case . And like , obviously maybe Mayor Garland should have been asking a lot more questions .
But again , like this is what happens when you're the new guy in town and , like the old guy before , you set the fucking booby traps to make it impossible for you to do your job , damn near . And then you got FBI Director Ray out here who , in due shit to stop January 6th , like how's he even still got a job ?
Like for all the complaints about Joe Biden , most of that energy needs to be directed to Christopher Rand , but that's , that's another story for another time . Well , even when , even after Garland took the job , like go look at when his deputies were appointed , like his handpicked dudes .
It took them months , but by the time we finally got a deputy attorney general appointed and , I guess , an attorney USA for the District of Columbia appointed later in the fall , like by the time that happened , the shit was up and running .
It was out here season phones and looking at communications and going after dudes and whatever , and people like assume that like it was the January 6th committee that sparked Marigold into action . No , that wasn't the case .
What happened was is they were trying to get the FBI to do all of this shit and the FBI was like we don't know if we can handle this shit and that's why you had stuff happen Like the , the post office inspector general out here arresting fucking Steve Bannon on Chinese yachts and you know season phones of Jeffrey Clark and Ray and his house and shit .
It's because the FBI is like out here like hey man , we don't know if that's a good idea . And the same thing happened with the Ray . Tomorrow I go the FBI , fbi agents on the case , like huh , we don't know if it's a good idea . And Mary Garland was like take your asses out there and go get them fucking documents . That was all Mary Garland .
Mary Garland is like pulling the trigger on this shit . It's other people obstructing the investigation through . You know that seemingly non-afferious means that calls the fucking delay and like there's some shit that's outside of his control . Now this is me You're listening to like again one of the biggest Mary Garland defenders .
I ain't got no defense for Mary Garland on the appointment of Robert Herb . You gotta understand that part of your job is to make sure like yes , of course you want to be in a position where the work you're doing can't be construed in any way as political , but part like in favor of Biden in this regard .
But also part of your job is making sure nobody uses the fucking office to launder a fucking political hit job against your boss . Like that's also part of your job . Like you can't be out here doing favors for the bad guys either .
Like you need to stick to neutrality and the shit that came out in that report like as unfactual as it was , because no one's sitting around talking about how Trump don't remember shit . He got deposed about his company , didn't remember how to run his fucking business , didn't remember anything to do with those documents they were showing him that he signed off on .
He got deposed in a fucking civil rape trial , confused his ex-wife with the woman he raped . Ain't nobody talking about Trump's mental dysfunction here ? Why is that ? It's because it's not coming from like official DOJ letterhead and that's why you gotta look at Garland and be like man . Did you not read this report ? Did you not review this ?
And like make sure this politically charged language was removed ? Because like hurt stepped outside of his boundaries and like again , we know her is a right wing shit show . That was the whole , like the entire point of leaving these dudes in their positions at DOJ so they could do shit like this .
And then Mary Garland goes and hand picks this dude and like then the work product comes out and you're like , oh , it's a fucking dumpster fire . Like not only is her responsible for that , but like you gotta be like Mary Garland . This , this is part of your job to make sure this stuff like this don't happen .
Because tell me what Robert Herre's qualifications are . To review Biden's mental state , you know , I like if you put it on DOJ letterhead , he ain't got no qualifications . Like it's one thing for him to be like a podcaster and like give his opinion , fucking special counsel work for the Department of Justice the shit show , yeah .
So anyone out there wanting to rail against Mary Garland for this ? Like I'm on your side . Like bad judgment , poor judgment . It reminds me of a guy who's like I want to .
Like he wants to do everything he can to appear not political by reacting to political pressure , but also like a guy who doesn't even like if that's the route you're going to take , well then maybe you should like watch the news and know what the politics are so you can avoid them . I don't know . It just seems , and fairly just , I don't have any answers .
It doesn't make any sense . The other thing they don't tell you about these depositions is like you get asked a lot of questions and lawyers will typically tell you , hey , in a deposition , like the lawyer asked a broad ranging question and you can't give a complete or accurate answer , limit your responses To being as specific as possible and accurate as possible .
And if you don't , if you don't remember and you honestly don't recall an answer , did you just tell the ? Tell the guy you don't remember , that you don't recall ?
Because what happens is like if you give an answer in a deposition and it turns out that answer was false , that can harm you far more than just saying you know , the honest truth is like you're not clear , or you're not clear on the answer you don't remember , you don't recall the specifics and that's totally normal .
Like it's totally normal to not necessarily recall specifics , especially about stuff like this , where there's , like you know , a handful of documents largely , in this case , biden's personal notes that he took with him in order to , you know , write his book or for his memoirs and shit .
Like You're not gonna remember every specific detail and I and I can especially in like this thing again with this the death of his son . Like I can tell you from personal experience , I remember vividly getting the news that my grandmother died . It was very heartbreaking and gut-wrenching for me . I can't even tell you what year it was .
I can't tell you the year , like I can maybe ballpark it like it was in the early 20 teens , maybe 2011 , 2012 , 2013 , somewhere around there . That's all I got for you . Couldn't tell you what month , what day .
I just remember how gut-wrenching it is , like this idea that Biden is supposed to remember , like these weird details , when everyone around him it can tell you how keenly aware of everything that's going on he is , like he's very astute , very knowledgeable , great recall for a lot , a lot of pertinent information . But like Just it's insane .
And the way you know it's insane is because even Republicans Are saying off the record that Biden is not only totally there but he beaten a ass . And that's like the question you got to ask man . Like if Biden is incompetent or you know he's suffering from dementia , how does he keep on winning Every single goddamn time ?
How does he out here constantly embarrassing Republicans , getting them to do insane stuff and own themselves and yeah , but look , I hold the media largely responsible for Continuing to perpetrate this narrative . Because here's the thing like telling the truth about Joe Biden , don't get no clicks . It doesn't like in the media , like mainstream media .
Print media is dead . Like online , mainstream media is slowly dying . In the only way that they can get like the revenue they need to continue to stay , sustain themselves , did at this rate is to put out stuff that gets clicks . And you know what ? Don't get no clicks Telling people how good of a job Joe Biden is done .
I don't care Like the nuances of the legislation he's passed or the way he's managed to keep the economy from entering a recession . They don't give no fucks .
How he managed to lower inflation while keeping unemployment in all time , well , you know , keeping employment numbers at a record high and unemployment , unemployment and a Unheard of low , for you know years straight is it's unheard , but no one cares about that shit . They need the clickbait stuff like supporting Joe Biden is boring .
You know what's entertaining for the right and outrages to the left . That'll get people to click on that shit . Joe Biden's old , this is what it is . Even John Stewart's out here doing it . He's out here doing . Both sides are the same Trump's old , biden's old . Why are we vote ? But like not comparing . That's the other thing .
Like okay , so John Stewart's back , it's back hosting the Daily Show Doing the job one day a week , bro . President Biden is out here doing the job seven days a week , 24 hours of the day . Your ass is too old to host the Daily Show five days a week . The fuck out of here with this .
This is nonsense and I , and I and I'm only I'm picking on John Stewart because it's like it's just boring dude Like we've . We're sick of this . It's played out like the both sides ism totally asinine . You , you want to . You want to win me over .
Like compare the job Biden is doing to the job Trump did and you come away with a totally different conclusion than just saying that they're both old , because it like Making them appears though they're similar is just totally asinine in every possible way .
And if you listen to this podcast , you're probably well , well aware of that and I'm just preaching to the choir . But the again , the reason the media does this is because nothing is more valuable than the click Not informing people , not educating people , not telling them the truth , but getting the click .
The click is the most important thing , and what gets the most clicks Again is because it creates outrage on the left and it gets the right wingers to click is bashing Joe Biden , and the reverse is also true for Trump . You know it's really boring Pointing out how fucking bonkers Donald Trump is . We all know it .
And right wingers ain't gonna read that and , like you know , left-leaning people are like , yes , this is fairly obvious . The man is insane . You know what gets us to click on stuff stuff defending Trump so because we hate read it or watch it .
And you know what gets the right all riled up like minimizing Trump's insanity , because it gives them a permission structure to continue supporting Trump and it gives them like ammo so they can wave it around , own the libs with . This is what the media has become and I know I say that as I'm talking to you on a fucking podcast .
Like you know , I'm a version of the media at this point to some degree , but I'm telling you the truth about how the shit works so that you understand , when you see this stuff happening on on the social media , on the news websites , on your MSNBCs , your CNNs and whatnot , exactly what is happening , because if you don't know what's going on , it'll drive you
fucking insane . And , of course , you know doing the whole boring thing of telling you how good Joe Biden is telling you how crazy Trump is . Yes , I'm totally aware in my case he's gonna give me a lot less clicks than I could be getting otherwise , but I ain't out here doing this for money .
Reason I'm doing this is Because I don't want to end up in a gulag or an internment camp in 2025 Because Trump say he's gonna start around the people up on day one . He just said it again the other day . You see that in the news . No , you did not . And and now you know why . And that concludes this episode of par and the interaction .
