- Class: Inotropic / Vasodilator
- MOA: Positive inotropic drug and vasodilator with minimal chronotropic effects. Inhibits enzyme cAMP phosphodiesterase which results in an increased concentration of calcium inside the cardiac cell and results in better diastolic function and myocardial contractility.
- Indication: Cardiogenic shock, Heart failure
- Contraindication: Valvular heart disease.
- Side effects: Cardiac arrhythmias, N/V, Hypotension
- Dosing:
Adult: 50 Mcg/kg IV/IO over 10 mins
