- Class – Anticoagulant
- MOA – Acts on antithrombin III to reduce the ability of the blood to form clots, thus preventing clot deposition in the coronary arteries.
- Indication – ACS, acute pulmonary embolism, DVT
- Contraindication – Predisposed to bleeding, aortic aneurism, peptic ulcer.
- Dosing:
Adult
Cardiac indications – 60 units/kg
Pulmonary embolism/ DVT – 80 units/kg
Pedi
Cardiac indications – 75 units/kg
Pulmonary embolism/DVT 75 units/kg
