In this episode, Host Dr. Karl Steinberg, MD, HMCD, CMD, and his guests spotlighted three articles published in the September issue of JAMDA. First, Monique A. Martin-Parent, MN, BN, RN, GNC, discussed the ethical challenges that arose during COVID-19, specifically focusing on the balance between safety and resident autonomy. Then Marie-Lee Yous, PhD, discussed reports on the feasibility and effects of the Namaste Care intervention for persons with advanced dementia. Finally, co-editor-in-chief Paul Katz, MD, CMD, provided a synopsis for author Raele Donetha Robinson, PhD, and colleagues that reviewed a study examining the link between antipsychotic exposure and dysphagia in hospitalized patients with heart failure.
