Episode description

HBO's Game of Thrones finally returns - for its eighth and final season - on April 14, twenty months after the season-seven finale, which would seem like a ridiculously long time except that we've already been waiting eight years for the sixth book in George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series, upon which the series is based. So, like Albert Einstein said, time is relative (which he explained this way, God bless him: "When you are courting a nice girl an hour seems like a second. When you sit on a red-hot cinder a second seems like an hour. That's relativity."). We've assembled a panel of experts to ruminate on the final six episodes, addressing such issues as: When all is said and done, who will sit on the Iron Throne? Who should sit on the Iron Throne?  Why would anyone want to sit on the Iron Throne (it's iron - a metaphor we fully appreciate)? Who will live?  Who will die?  If they live, where will they end up?  If they die, who will kill them? Has Game of Thrones jumped the shark? You'll be surprised at some of their answers. Give a listen. Dramatis personae: Spencer Ackerman, senior national security correspondent, The Daily Beast David Bushman, television curator, The Paley Center for Media Nate Jones, writer, Vulture Carol Pinchefsky, writer, contributing editor, Syfy Ivan Rodriguez, cohost, Boars, Gores, and Swords (podcast)
