Episode description

I get this question a lot: "If I'm signed up with ASCAP or BMI, then why do I also need to sign up with a publishing administration company?"

Or when I ask people "Are you in a publishing deal" the respond with, "Yes, I'm with ASCAP".

So I wanted to dedicate this episode to the differences between being with Performance Rights Organization (PRO) and having a publishing deal - and why you need both!

Remember, PRO's only represent your public performance right and only collect performance royalties.

Publishing deals represent ALL of your rights and collect ALL of your publishing royalties.
