Hey, Padel enthusiasts. Welcome to Padel Smash Academy. My name is Cez Padel Club owner and entrepreneur. Next to me is Julian Paddle Master Coach, and we're all about Paddle. Welcome back guys to Padel Smash Academy, and today we're doing product reviews on Three Padel. One is a head, uh, speed, pro X, which is actually my padel, which, uh, I use all the time and I love it. And this is kind of the, the paddle that that, um, that came after the Alpha Pro that Sanjo used for many years.
So, uh, let's talk about the specs first. Uh, it weighs around 3 75 grams, and that's what, you know, uh, head states in their. But what, what was actually, what did actually weigh? Um, well, actually, I mean, um, you gotta take in consideration if you add a grip to it, uh, the weight will go through about 3 87, so it's about another 10 grams to it. So that could be a big difference, uh, on the head of the, you know, on the weight of the racket.
Yeah. Yeah. I think, uh, you know, it came out the 3 87 as you stated, so that's almost like y you know, uh, uh, 12, 12 grams more. And, uh, I think the, the. One grip, one thin grip, uh, weighs around maybe five to six grams. So even after that, we're kind of like 10 grams over than what the, what had states. So it is kind of a heavier racket. Um, it is a diamond shape racket. Um, and you get some of the weight.
On the top here, you know, so it does produce good, good power there, but it tends to be a little bit, you know, heavy, right? Yes, that definitely is a heavier, heavier paddle. It's, it's in the heavier end of all the paddles. Uh, for me personally, it gets a, a bit too heavy, uh, after a while, especially if you wanna work on the net and, and things like that. If you wanna do wallets, uh, you know, after a few games, you start fleeing in the heaviness.
Now, um, this is 12,000, uh, carbon fiber. Um, and it, it does have a smooth surface. Okay. Uh, and it does kind of have a harder foam, you know, and what, what does that really mean? It means kind of when you're going to hit the ball, the ball's gonna come out very quickly, so, correct. It's less effort, you know, for the ball to, to come out. Um, and it does have, uh, anti vibration, uh, handle here.
Um, and that's, you could feel that from the Alpha Pro to the speed X. You can definitely feel the difference there, and especially when you, when you hit it, the Alpha Pro, you definitely had a little bit of vibration. Here, uh, barely any. So they did a really good job, uh, uh, there. Yeah. And, and, and just to, to, for you guys to understand, um, because there are many different technical aspects on the paddles.
When we talk about the carbon fiber, usually you're gonna get a three K, which means, uh, 3000, you know, carbon fibers intertwined 3, 6, 12, and 18. What it means by that, I mean the higher the, the, the number, the 12 K, which means that you have 12. You know, intertwine, uh, carbon fibers. So that means that there's, they're more condensed and that gives you more control. So the higher the number, the more con control you get.
So this rocket, it's on the heavier side and the more controlled side, uh, which for sand players might be the perfect racket. Some other players, It gets on the heavier side. I think that that's a good point. Uh, when it comes to carbon fiber and what are the differences, right? And I think you talked a little bit about it, uh, from 3000 to 18,000, uh, you know, when you have more carbon fibers, it's, it seems to be, it's gonna be more and it's gonna be less bending in, you know, more.
Yeah. Let's get. Less, less carbon fiber, the ball's gonna come in a little bit more. Correct. Okay. So that's, that's, that's the difference when it comes to carbon fiber and, you know. Yeah. And, and also, you know what, what, uh, I mean, if you stick your finger inside, you will feel the, the, it's called the EVA foam, and you have two types, the heart. The hard and the soft. And this one, it's, it's the hard foam, so that means that you get extra control with it. You know what I mean?
So you have, those are are very important things that you have to look at it before getting a paddle. It's, it's how many you know, either 3, 6, 12, or 18. And also the foam is very, is very important for you to understand the technological aspects of the paddle. Okay, so let's, let's, let's play with this a little bit. So let's go on the back wall and see how this thing, uh, uh, you know, hits. Let, let.
Okay. So on the back wall I felt like, you know, I had good control, good power, and the, the ball came out very well. But, uh, I had, you know, I felt less control coming off the back wall when I had shorter strokes. Uh, I had to put a little more, better, more effort into getting that ball where I wanted to go. Yeah. For me it was, um, uh, something. You feel that heaviness on the paddle.
So every time you, you stroke the, the shot that padel goes, and that gives you that extra hump on, on the ball for you to get that extra power on the shot. Um, I, the, the balls that I hit, I tended to overshoot it too much, meaning hit it a little bit too hard. So it took me a while for me to start getting the feeling of that, of that paddle. Uh, but that comes, you know, with the diamond shape and the head heavier, you know, it's, it's an adaptable racket.
Okay, so now let, let's, let's try that then that, and do some aerial shots. Okay. I felt that, you know, doing the volleys, I had more control, I was more precise, and the ball came out a lot faster. Uh, and when I was doing my aerial shots, I felt I had more power and definitely control. I really loved it. Uh, when it comes to, to voling and, and aerial shots.
So, uh, for me, uh, in my case at the net, um, you know, the, when it's too heavy, I tend to start losing that feeling at the net of, of me handling from the forehead to the. So for me it was a little bit too heavy on, on the net, even though when you hit it right on the sweet spot, that will will go with, you know, with very good speed and, and heaviness in that shot. But for me it's, it was just a little bit too heavy at the net and for me to be able to handle the properly.
Same thing with hitting bandas on some, uh, vis, uh, that heaven is, gives you, gives you that extra power, but it's still in, in my personal view, it's, it's a bit too heavy. Okay. Fair enough, fair enough. Um, okay. So, uh, I use this racket all the time. Uh, I'm gonna give you my thoughts on it. Um, I feel that it, the ball comes out very fast and very easily. Um, again, like I, I stated before, off the back walls, I have to put a little more effort into it. Okay?
Um, uh, but my volley seem to be, you know, on point. You know, once, once you get a position that, and you're hitting that sweet spot, it's the ball's gonna fly out of that racket. Um, you know, vidos, my band, my smashes, uh, it is a little. So I tend to always definitely hold it with my left hand, you know, help me all the time. Uh, but it tends to be a little bit heavier, uh, at 3 86 grams, which is pretty heavy paddle. Uh, what, what did you think? Uh, Julian?
Uh, for me personally, I, it was, uh, just a bit too heavy overall. Uh, f when you hit it good, but after a while I start feeling the heaviness of the paddle, and I, in my personal view, I need something a. Head lighter, no, 3 87 or or 3 75. I will mo Mo move more towards the 360 365, which I can handle under it a little bit better. But yes, the Sweet Pot is beautiful, that heaven is, gives you that extra hump on the bulb where you can really put pressure on it.
But overall, it's uh, I will give it a maybe six, seven. One to 10 rating. So if you're coming from Alpha Pro, which a lot of people, this is kind of the replacement for the Alpha Pro. Um, and if you're thinking of purchasing this paddle and you're using Alpha Pro, it is a little different. And the difference would be maybe the Alpha Pro's a little lighter, so you'd be quicker. On your hands. Okay. But Alpha Pro, you're gonna feel a little bit of the vibration.
So if you don't hit it in a sweet spot, you're gonna feel that. Okay? Um, and this one is, uh, you won't feel as much cuz it has a great, um, anti vibration here in, in the, in the grip and the sweet spot's a little bit bigger, okay? And, and it's a little bit more powerful, uh, and it is a little more heavier. So those are the things to think about if you're gonna, uh, upgrade to this paddle coming from Alpha Pro. But at the end of the day, uh, I haven't found the paddle. That I like better.
So, uh, you know, so this is more of a biased, you know, uh, rating. So for me it's gonna be an eight to eight to 10. Um, eight to 10. You're generous. Yeah. I love this paddle. I haven't found one that's, that's better than this. Well, again, I'm biased because you gotta understand that. A paddle, it's very hard to rate a paddle because each person has their way of playing. Right? You have, uh, and, and each paddle has their own characteristics based on how you play.
Yeah. So what I may feel will be great, may, you know, another person may not like, and vice versa. So, uh, I'm looking at it in the perspective of somebody coming from playing from Alpha Pro. And maybe upgrading to this, um, things that they should look out for. And as a professional, you know, in, in the paddle world, it's, I suggest to all my students and everyone that is looking to buy a new paddle, try them out first. All these paddles that we're reviewing, they're top of the line.
They're the high, high end paddles. Every paddle is superb. The quality is outstanding, but you have to try 'em out because like, uh, Seth uh, said it, it's a personal feeling. You have to feel it, you know what I mean? And he has certain views on this paddle for me. I wouldn't buy this paddle for him. It's his home paddle. He loves it. I have to, but that's a great point. Uh, trying them out first. I mean, that is so key and we're gonna go over that afterwards where you can try them out.
Um, there's a place where you can try them out for free. You know, I don't know any other place that that will allow you to do that. You can try 'em off for free and uh, and choose from there, but we're gonna go over that later. All right, Julian. So what's the price of the, of the head? Um, uh, speed, uh, speed prox. Well, the, the price, uh, retail price right now is $360, uh, pretty high-end price.
Yep. So that, that, that, that's what we're looking at most, uh, you know, premium paddles, they're anywhere from, you know, three 40 to $400. Um, and that's if you can find them here in the US Yes. You know, course. And if you can't, then you have to pay shipping. Other fees and then make even a little bit more. Um, okay, so let's, let's go over the next paddle, which is, uh, sus, uh, uh, Diablo Revolution two.
Uh, this is actually the third paddle that, that Sanjo, um, you know, created with Sus. I have his first paddle, um, which I felt was a little too soft. Uh, I didn't purchase the second one, but, uh, I purchased this one here. So I believe this is gonna be the one he's gonna be staying with for a year or two. Um, you know, it is around 3 55 to 3 75 grams. And that's what you know, it, it says on their site, uh, actually wait it, and it's 3 74.
Um, and if you add a grip, It could be around, you know, 3 79. So, um, they're, they're kind of there. So it's still, you know, 3 75, just I would say 3 75 to three 80 if you're gonna put a grip. Yeah. Um, this is a hybrid, you know, style, uh, head. Okay. Um, it, it has a medium foam. Okay. Um, it has a middle balance, so it is definitely balanced. Doesn't feel top heavy. Um, you know, it does have a smooth surface. And it has this, uh, this rigid or these grooves in, in, in a grip.
And you may or may not like that. Um, that all depends on you, and it is a 12,000 carbon fiber. Good. Let me just give you another, um, you know, this rugged, uh, weight is ready between 3 55, 3 75. The actual weight it. With a grape is about 3 74. But why they give you that, that rating is because a lot of the professional players or, or you know, the competition players, some of the players, they tend to take the, the original grip out, the leather grip out.
So that will make the, the, the, you know, the grip smaller and the, the, the paddle, you know, the racket lighter. Mm-hmm. So that's why oscillates between 3 74 with a grip on top of the, the actual original. And without a grip at all, it will drop down to the 3 55, 360 range. And that's very important for them. Yeah. To, to understand why, why that range and, and some of the professional players put extra grip on it Yes. To make it heavier. So, uh, it all, all depends.
And another factor is that these things are handmade. There's no machine that makes 'em. So when you're making something handmade, you know you're always gonna be off a little bit. Yeah. You put an extra thing of your thing over it, you know, uh, whatever it may be, you know, so that's why they kind of give a range, and I think that's pretty good of souks to give a range because, uh, most of the places weren't, didn't give a range, actually. Just attaching a good point.
You know, we have this, we get asked these questions quite a few times. You know why R Paddle rackets are so expensive compared to a tennis racket? A tennis racket, it could be high end racket, a pure drive or a I pro, you know, baby, it will cost you two, $200, 199. Maybe two 19, where these paddles, they go about $300, almost 400. Or maybe it's higher than that. And, and what, uh, sis what, what Seth was talking about is that these paddles are made manually. You know what I mean?
There is no ac an actual mold. There's a lot of labor involved in each paddle. Mm-hmm. That's why they're so expensive. Uh, tennis rack. They just put in a mold and they just, you know, make it in molds and they can. Thousands. You know by minute here it's one at a time and it has, it's very labor intensive. That's why. The price is so high. It's not like, because everybody loves patent, that they're start increasing the price. It's right now the technology they have, it's a manual labor.
It's very expensive. That's why the, the prices are so high. Right? And also too, uh, the longevity of it. So, you know, you buy a. Tennis racket and maybe change your strings, uh, every month or every two months depending on what type of strings you, you buy, uh, the thickness and, and how, you know, how often you, you play here? You don't, you don't do that. No. You know, but I guess the question is, is how long do these paddles last? When do they start breaking down?
Right. And I can, I can say it starts breaking down as soon as you start using it. At what point is it now, uh, gonna affect the, the. And I guess it depends of, you know, how long you use it. I mean, if you're playing every single day, then probably, maybe six months, you might want to consider buying a, you know, the new paddle and you might feel the difference.
I mean, you may not feel the difference because you're using a paddle, but once you get the new one, you're like, wow, there's, there's a difference there. And you're playing maybe once a week. Maybe, you know, a year. Um, so I think a lot of people are, you know, are, uh, believe that the pedal lasts forever. And although you can't use it, but the foam tends to break down. Correct. Um, after, you know, some so often that you use it.
Yes. The o the other thing, it's, it's, it's weather and you can, I, you can't imagine how many people, uh, they leave the paddles on the car and with the sun and the heat, especially here in South Florida. It changed the actual structure of the paddle. Yeah. Because of the foam. Because of the fibers, they actually get cooked, especially floor in the summertime. If you leave it in the car, I mean that thing is get gets cooked and the feelings start changing.
Yeah. And especially when you have, you have two type of fibers. You have fiberglass and you have carbon fiber. Fiberglass, it will be the cheaper version of the paddles and the fiberglass, what it does is, is not as, as stiff as carbon fiber. So it starts breaking down, uh, faster. The more you hit. So the, the, the actually flexibility of the paddles start changing.
So yes, going back to his, uh, uh, response, it's, uh, They change and you will feel that the difference you'll be playing with same paddle from day one to day after, you know, 30, 90 days, you will feel the difference. It's, it's a different feeling. And if you are concerned whether your paddle needs to be replaced or not, um, it, the best thing is to go, you know, try a new one that's the same one.
You can go try to know it and then we're gonna talk about that later on in, in the video where you can do that. Yeah. Um, okay. So, For me. Uh, let's, let's, let's talk about, uh, this paddle at the, at the, at the back wall. So, uh, using this paddle at the back wall, I felt I had very good control. Uh, a little less effort to get that ball over where I wanted to go. Um, the power was okay. Was, was there, um, you know, again, I had to put a little more effort into it.
Uh, how about yourself at the back? Uh, for me it was a super soft friendly. Easy to handle. Paddle. I really liked that a lot. I mean that extremely soft compared to the head, uh, that we played before. These ones was super soft, easy to handle, you know, balance, weight. Great feeling overall. Yeah. Okay. So now I'm at the net and, and I'm, you know, balling, I feel like I'm a little bit faster, uh, with this paddle. I can move this paddle, you know, very quickly.
Um, uh, you know, when I hit the shots, I, I feel a little bit more. Especially when I hit it hard. Um, you know, um, so I feel like there should be a little bit more power. And I think the same thing with my, um, with my, uh, aerial shots. I feel like, uh, there should be a way to maybe manage the, the, the weight. So I, I would need, want more weight on the top just to get a little more power when it comes to my aerial shots. Yourself.
For me, it was, uh, super easy to handle, very soft, good feeling, good touch. Me personally, I liked it. I liked it a lot. Uh, aerial game. I needed a little bit more weight. And, and my suggestion, what I will do with this racket is some put some, uh, lead weight on top of it. Um, you can buy it, uh, in any tennis store or anything like that and start playing with the lead weight. That will make a big difference for someone. For me, it needed just a little more weight on the.
But the feeling was super soft and easy to handle. I think that's a great point. I don't think people know that either. Yeah, exactly. So if, if you have a paddle that you really like, um, and is well balanced, uh, similar to this and you feel just need a little bit more power, you can put a tape on the top, a weighted, weighted tape, um, and that will give you a little bit more, more. Yeah. Uh, great, great, great advice.
Okay, so at the end of the day, what did you think about this paddle overall? Overall, I will give it an, uh, eight and a half. I mean, great feeling softer. I mean, I like the softer side. Um, you, you start feeling the ball that it BULs react to it. Um, I just love it. Eight and a half for me. Okay. So for me, uh, I really liked it too. It was well-balanced. You know, this paddle is probably for somebody who plays the right side. Uh, somebody who is more technical.
Um, this paddle is probably not for the person who wants to, uh, smash all the time or a really aggressive, somebody plays the left side. Um, so if you are playing more technical, you're on the right side, uh, and you're hitting. Precise shots. Um, this is a well-balanced, uh, paddle. You know, it's really balanced. It feels light on your hand. Uh, the balance is in the center here. Uh, you're able to control the ball.
You're not gonna get as much power, you know, as other paddles, but I think this is a good paddle for, you know, beginners, intermediate, and even advanced. Um, so all depends on your style of fly. Yeah. So I'll, I'll give this paddle a name. Yeah. And, and I think we'll be like, uh, Seth was saying.
Great paddle for someone who plays on the right, uh, who can construct the points and all that because it gives you that easy maneuver, maneuverability to really, you know, prepare points, uh, is not, uh, you will not get as much power on the arrow game or the overheads or the bandas or the, or the vis. But overall, it's, it's a, it's a great paddle. So how much is this? How much is this paddle these babies? About 380 bucks.
300. Whoa. Let's you know, you know, you have, you have san's name on it, right? Yeah. You know, so that's an extra 20, 20, 30, 40 bucks there, right there. It's just to have his name. Right. And, and hopefully he stays with this paddle because he's made two other ones, and I'm sure people have purchased those. I was a little disappointed in those other two. Uh, but I, I, I definitely like, like, like this one. Yeah. Okay. So let's, let's, let's move on to the next, uh, uh, paddle.
The world famous Bella Wilson, Bella. New model 2023. This is the Bella Pro. As you know, they, they come in three different versions. You know, the pro is the, the heaviest one. They have the lead, they have the light lt, and they have the team, which is the largest out of all of them. Uh, this is the pro, this is the panel that he actually plays with it. This is the heavier, you know, more competitive version. Um, 370 grams, you know, out of, out of the bag with grip it was 3 82.
So you're adding about another 12 grams of it, which it makes it, you know, a bit different. Um, I will say it's a diamond head, medium balance, uh, um, big, sweet spot. I, out of this paddle, this is, um, the paddle that I. Actually I use the lead. No, the pro, uh, great feeling, great sweet spot when you hit it. Oh my God, that ball, it's, it's, it's fantastic that feeling that I get three K carbon fiber, so it's not as stiff as the 12 K or, or the 18 K, so it's a little bit softer.
So you get that extra give on the wall that gives you that extra power. Medium foam is not a hard form, so it's medium foam. So, You know what, where I'm, where we're going with this, you know, three K medium foam, so that, that bull goes, I mean, and that's the feeling that you get with this paddle. Um, you have a texture right surface, it's sort of like a diamond thing. Um, they come up with their own, uh, branding.
Um, it's a, well, I, I will say it's a bit head heavier, but on the, on the specs here, they're talking about, uh, it's a balanced. Um, and know what and what do you think? Well, I think you're in love with this racket. I am. I am. I, I love the shape, I love the feeling. Uh, it's a very, very nice, I gotta tell you, it's probably the most beautiful paddle that I've seen. I mean, I gotta, these two are, are probably the nicest, uh, design paddles that, that I've seen. I really liked ya.
Well, um, and I really like this Bella. I mean, It is gorgeous. Yeah, this is gorgeous rep, uh, paddle. Um, I do see that there's a texture there. And you know what I'm realizing is that in the Bella with the a I believe that's the, the, the texture that's on here, which is kind of cool. I'm just realizing that now. But, um, I, I, I liked it. I, I, that was, it's a good racket. Um, it's well-balanced. It has a good sweet spot. Um, you know, it is a medium.
Okay, so you're not gonna get a huge power, but you're gonna get a lot of, lot of control. So I think this is a really good paddle for, you know, for anybody. Alright, Julian, so how did you like playing with this paddle? The, the back wall? Uh, like, like I said before, you know, I played with this one with the elite and this one gives you a little, a little bit more extra, uh, weight on it. The feeling was superb, honestly. But I mean, I'm biased on this.
Uh, I've been using this spider for quite a while and, uh, it's just great feeling, great feeling, you know, it is not that heavy. It's not that. It's not, it's not that hard. It's not that soft. So you find that perfect combination. And look, this, this paddle has been designed by, you know, the legend of paddle, you know, uh, Bella, and, and he knows paddles. So, uh, this is a top of the line paddle. I mean, for me, it's, it's, it's, it's just a fantastic paddle.
I love it from the baseline, easy to control, good control, and good speed and good. How about you? For my, for myself at the back wall, I found it, um, really great when it came off the back wall or the ball was a little bit slower, it had more, less effort I had to put in to get the ball where I wanted to go. Uh, when hitting the, hitting the, the ball, I, you know, I felt like I hit it well.
Um, not as powerful as what I'm used to, but, you know, it, it, I had a lot of control over the ball and, and that's sometimes more important than getting the power. Um, okay. So how did you, how did you like this when you were. Uh, net. I mean, I, I felt great. You know, when you hit these paddles, uh, they have, they have so much rd on it, uh, that they have a beautiful, sweet spot. When you hit it right on the sweet spot, that ball goes. I mean, it's, you feel it perfect.
Uh, which I never felt it with the Diablo or, or the head. Uh, these for me, which is fantastic. I mean, I, I just love the, you know, four hands backhands aerial. Put away. I mean, it was just, uh, I will give it a rating of nine, nine and a half for me. Wow. We're not there yet. What I wanted to say, you know, I wanna be biased, man. Well, it sure sounds like that's better. That's better. Alright. For myself at, you know, balling, uh, you know, I did fine. I like the balling.
Um, when it came to the aerial shot, especially the vi. Uh, I felt like I just need a little bit more power. Um, I just lacked a little bit more power for me. Uh, although I do play the right side, I, I tend to be somewhat more aggressive, so my expectations are a little bit more power, meaning the ball's gonna come out faster on the ball, but generally, uh, this is a great paddle. Uh, suggest this for, you know, any, uh, uh, beginners, instrumenting, even.
You know, some's playing the right side. Again, I believe this is for me, very similar to the Diablo, um, in, in many different ways, but obviously they're both, uh, a little different in their own ways. Um, okay, so I'm gonna rate this, you know, about an a, uh, for me. Uh, just come on, man. That was tough. I mean, that that record is, that record is, it's a great, oh my God, this guy's taking personal. Well, you put, you put mine out Six. Yeah. Well, you're looking at go five.
But anyways, I, I do like this racket. Uh, I just, for me, uh, it just needs a little more power for me. And then that's just, just, just for my myself. All right. So price? Yeah, price. Uh, we're at 3 75, so this kind of in the line with all the other premium, uh, paddles that we have here. Yeah. Um, so, um, so now we're gonna talk about where you can, where you can try these paddles. Um, you could actually go to a place, right? Try them out for free and then, and purchase one right there.
Um, or but if you're, if you're in Miami. If you're in Miami, you're right. But better, uh, that you do, you try 'em out and you buy it with our coupon cuz we have a coupon here at 10%. And we want to talk about our partnership now with Casa. Uh, Casa Paddle, right? Yeah, Casa An upcoming, uh, paddle store. Uh, they have the online business. They're doing superb. And now they just open a. Uh, kiosk and locations, uh, in the, in the Miami, you know, south Florida area. They're doing great.
And, uh, we got lucky that they give us, they're sponsoring this, this program and they're giving us 10% discount. Yeah. So you can find them at, uh, Miramar over at Open Paddle. Uh, they have a small location there, and that's where you can go and try out the, the paddles there. Um, and I believe it's for free, if you're gonna go and try them out, if there's a core available, you know, 10, 15 minutes, it's for free.
