Hello everyone. Today we're reviewing Padel MBA coaches certification. I believe is one of the biggest, uh, Padel coaches certifications worldwide. Um, there are pretty much in all over Europe and now they're in the United States. And, uh, now the panel of MBA certifications had the honor and pleasure to certify my dear co host Seth. So tell us, how was your experience? I mean, I think it was, it was pretty awesome. They have a two part, you know, um, one is online and one is in person.
Okay. So the online is. I think it's great for everybody. I mean, not if you want to be a coach, uh, just if you just want to learn more, or if you do want to be a coach, uh, the online is very thorough. Like I said, it's very long. There's tests there. I've learned a lot, um, things that I. Kind of did know, but didn't know the details of things I didn't even know. Um, and then of course there's a lot of education on, on coaching.
Um, so it was, I thought it was very thorough and very, very good. I mean, uh, it was, it was done very well, you know, online. And then there's an in person you're going to go over theory and you're going to go over methodology. Um, and we were fortunate enough to, to, uh, listen to, you know, Marcus's inspirational and motivated motivational, uh, speeches, which is, uh, a bonus, a plus, uh, it's very priceless.
When you're outside, you're going to focus on, uh, training, uh, you know, ball feeding and your skills. And that's pretty much what they grade you on. Um, if you, you know, they, they input it in, they send it to Spain. Uh, and then they, they, they, you come back and they give you rather a, a coach's certificate or professional certifications. Um, I thought it was really great, um, the whole weekend. It was a lot of fun. Again, I learned a lot. Uh, you know, I'm not really a coach.
But, but, but let me ask you, you know, how, how the whole process. So you said you want to become a coach. So you go online. You register online. Yep. You paid, what was the cost? Okay, so the cost is about 5. 50 in the U. S. Okay, and that includes the online and the in person certification. And you can always get online, you can always go back to it. Okay, and do they give you that for a certain amount of time or it's forever? Forever. I mean, for years, it's not a one year type of thing.
Uh, they didn't say, but I mean, I think you have access to it all the time. Okay. So, and the online process where like there are stages that you have to take past level one, level three, how does that work? Like you can't just, you know, run, you just can't pass through everything. So you have to watch the videos. It's like they force you to, which is great anyways. I mean, you don't, you don't think you just want to not, not pay 5. 50 and not educate yourself, you know?
So you have to go through the videos and then you have to take these tests and you got to pass them. If you don't pass them, you can't move forward. Okay. Can you retake the test? Yeah. Okay. It's for people like you that have issues, you can take the test as many times as you like 12 times each day. So, so it's very long. I mean, it took me like a whole week.
It took me three hours, you know, almost per day for the whole week, you know, um, after that, I just couldn't be like, it's too much, you know, for me and I have other things to do, you know, like the length of the videos is that, uh, do you have their video for like 45 minutes or they're very short. Some are like.
20 minutes, some are like 45, some of the, it all depends, you know, uh, like 60, 70 percent of it are basic things like they kind of knew maybe 75 percent and there's the other 25 percent that I really learned that, you know, I, I didn't know certain things, you know, um, or other things were more clarified to me. And then obviously the coaching stuff, I, you know, I'm not a coach, so I learned, I learned a lot there. So I, I, I think it was, I think that's great.
I mean, even if you just want to be a better player, yeah. You know, understand the game more. Um, I mean, it's, it's a pretty good, um, course. So, so you, you pass those tests and then you, you're qualified to go into it in person? Yeah. So once you get that, you get like the first, like a certificate, like you first, uh, you finish that. Okay, now the online process. Mm-Hmm.
. Now you can go ahead and do the in person, you know, so they have 'em, I think, you know, every other month or, or every month. And it's over there in Orlando, the USTA, uh, national campus. Um, so I headed over there and, and I did the, you know, year in class. Maybe for a couple hours. Um, it's Saturday and Sunday, and they talk a little bit about, you know, methodology, um, you know, and coaching and their way they, they, they, they want to coach.
Um, and then they also talked a little bit about training. And then, you know, we had Marcus, uh, Pilar there. And we're very fortunate to listen to some inspiration for his inspirational and, you know, a motor, motivational, uh, you know, uh, speeches, uh, which is priceless. I mean, I look up to him as a business person, not just a Padel player, uh, and then you go outside. So, and, and, and outside what type of drills do you do?
So, they focus on training, you know, their own, you know, methodology of training. Um, so that's on one court. Um, and you have to create your own training, like a plan, you know, at that by Sunday. You have to turn that in, in writing, and then you actually have to demonstrate it in front of them.
You know, Marcus and the other coaches, and then the other, the other, the other side, you have more ball feeding, you know, that was kind of like, uh, one of the testing and then the other side is skills. So we'll make sure you know how to play, what level you are, make sure you're, you know, you're teaching correctly. And then they want to make sure you know how to train correctly, like they're again, methodology. And then obviously you want to make sure you, you know, the ball feed.
You know, because again, if, if you are going to be a coach and you're going to charge somebody, you know, a hundred, 200 an hour and you can't feed them the ball, you know, then they're going to be a little upset. That's one of the, that was my next question. I mean, the feeding part, it's crucial. I mean, in Padel compared to, let's say tennis, you know, you have a big margin of error in tennis that you can feed it one feet out, one feet in and still a good shot.
In Padel, you're talking about inches, inches, meaning. Yeah. If you want to feed that shot, side wall, back wall, back wall, you know, side wall, it's, do you, do they test you in that? Yeah. And as a player, you're not accustomed to giving the ball nicely to the person. Yeah. You're accustomed to put it in a more difficult situation. So it goes against everything that a player really thinks, you know. Um, so that was the most difficult thing for me.
You know, um, all the other parts were, you know, pretty, pretty easy, but you have to kind of, they put like these plastic things down and you have to get them in the spots and they're very, very, very small, you know, and you have to put them in the corners, you know, um, so it's a pretty big test and you have to get three in. Um, if you don't get three in, then you're discounted, uh, you know, your grade goes down or whatever. So it's, it's not easy.
That's the most, I think that's where most people have the most difficult time. The other ones, there's no problem. Um, but that's where everybody had, had issues. And how many people were there? I think there was about, uh, 18 to 20 people there, you know, and, uh, you know, and the instructor. So let's talk a little bit about instructors. Um, you had Luis Estrada Estrada there, your number one player here in the U. S. Uh, Diego Leal and Marcos Del Pilar.
So you had some really good instructors there. Uh, the, you know, the, the environment was really cool. Everybody was very nice. Um, everybody was into Padel. You had some tennis players converting into Padel coaches that are, you know, now that they say their facility now is having Padel courts. So now they're going to be in charge of that. Uh, there are people opening up, you know, clubs, you know, other people just want to focus on, on being coaches.
So yeah, you know, uh, all walks of people there. That's excellent. I mean, I mean, that's very positive. I mean, one of the major things that we need here in the United States, we have, you know, over more than probably 200 courts right now in the United States, which is nothing compared to the rest of the world. But we don't have 200 coaches that work or have make Padel as a life, you know, uh, career career. So we need more and more coaches, and I think Padel will be a great way to start.
Yeah, I think it's, I think it's the best, uh, you know, uh, course, uh, you can take. It's thorough, like I said, and it's going to take up your time, but so if you just want the one certificate, that's just not the place to go. If you want to learn, you want, you know, you be thorough and kind of do it the right way, that that's the place to be. Yeah. And remember, you know, they don't. Give you a certificate there.
I mean, they give you a certificate that you did the first part, second part, but they put all the information in, uh, uh, you know, online. So it's, it's a web based and that's get sent over to Padel MBA in Spain. They go off through everything, meaning what you submitted when it comes to your training.
Um, you're, you're testing and all the three areas, you know, the skills, the training and, uh, the ball feeding and after, and there's a test, there's another test that you have to take the email, you like a 30 question test, you fill that out, you send that back and now you wait, uh, and then they, you know, send you a certificate rather being a co certificate or a pro.
And if you don't make it a pro, you can always kind of take one part again, you know, and to get to that pro there's also a second level of coaching. Um, there's no tasks or anything like that, but I think it's more of like, uh, updates and like, uh, new, you know, new items, new things. And, um, and I, I want to try to probably take that.
