Episode 1 "Washington versus Kirishima"

The battle around Guadalcanal is getting intense as the Naval forces of the Imperial Japanese and the United States struggle for dominance around the Island. A few Naval Battles around the Island would change the nature of warfare for the United States as they placed the Japanese Navy on the defensive, and in doing so brought about the push up the Solomon chain into protecting the Southern Pacific push. In the Second Battle of Guadalcanal we see the U.S.S. Washington slug it out with the I.J.N. Kirishima in one of the many battles to decide the fate of U.S. projection into the area.
