Episode description

Today for Ep. 17, we have our first triathlete on the podcast, the one & only Laurin Thorne.

Laurin was born in Sydney, Montana, but grew up mostly in Calgary, Alberta. She found early success on the track by setting western Canadian records within her first couple races.

At age 18, Laurin decided to make the next jump in her triathlon career by moving to Victoria to train at the National performance center. Her last 3 years have been challenging, but she keeps leaning into her adversity knowing there’s something better on the other side. In the words of Mike Van Tighem “ she is one of the kindest, most genuine people I’ve met but also an amazingly tough competitor.
