We are delighted to bring you the final episode of Series 1 of THE OYÉ WORLD POD - the new podcast from Africa Oyé - the UK's biggest celebration of African and Caribbean music and culture. The 'Oyé World Pod', hosted by Oyé's Artistic Director, Paul Duhaney will welcome a different guest each show, chatting about the music they just can't live without, dream festival lineups and lots lots more. EPISODE 5 - PHINA ORUCHE TV Actress and writer Phina Oruche loves the word and is known for her theatre writing. Her one woman show "Identity Crisis" was nominated for an Alfred Fagon award. was reviewed well in Edinburgh, London, Bristol, Liverpool and all the places it toured.

She now has turned her hand to different type of storytelling and found a creative way to motivate her son to read.

And started writing for children to encourage her own son to read during Lockdown her debut book Jacopo Jacopo Football Star was written to inspire her son who is a keen footballer.

The newest release book in the Jacopo series is Jacopo Jacopo On Lockdown and still inspires boys to be their best but lays bare "the talk” parents of children of colour have to have about race.

Phina Oruche who credits include “Taken Down” RTE, Anthony on BBC 1, Footballers Wives ITV, Hollyoaks CH4, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer on WB, decided that though she didn't want to talk about race, the events of the last two months and the Lockdown in combination made a crucible for children that needed to be addressed
