Welcome to Episode 217 where we grab another episode from the vault – one that looks at what it means to keep yourself, and the other person, in a place of choice when communicating.   

In this episode we explore what it means to keep choice in our connections with others.  To demonstrate healthy boundaries, detachment, and therefore personal ownership of what belongs to us, and allowing the other to always be choosing. To not be passive-aggressive via indirect requests or other manipulations.  To not take on the victim role that says: “Because of you…I”. Being clear, owning our thoughts and feelings, and practicing detachment makes us better communicators and safer to be around. 

Key Elements:

• Look at how we can avoid choosing and instead present with a victim-based mindset.
• Identify how blurred boundaries create emotional hostage-taking.
• Practice “being in choice” in your communication, creating emotional safety and the atmosphere for deeper connection.

When we're not direct,

when we don't own our truth,

when we don't speak with emotional honesty,

we make it unsafe for them to be vulnerable as well.
