EP153 Stopping the All or Nothing: How Our Binary Beliefs Create Stress
Welcome to Episode 153 where we talk about how we can add a lot of stress to our life by staying in black and white thinking, as well as being rigid to play it safe and not take risks.
In this episode we explore how we can create a lot of stress for ourselves by staying in the rigid all or nothing, perfect or horrible thinking, which keeps us from taking healthy risks in our life and seeing possibilities. It often goes hand in hand with feeling anxious and depressed and it’s not hard to see why. We then looked into ways of being open to reframing situations, allowing for other possibilities and allowing more for ourselves.
Key Elements:
- Note some of the origins of building binary beliefs.
- Look at some of the costs to our relationships and our life.
- Identify ways to begin the process of changing your paradigm.
“The greatest weapon
against stress
is our ability to choose
one thought
over another.”
