EP05: Coffee Talks: Religion
Mar 07, 2020•36 min•Ep. 5
Episode description
Sandy and I were lucky enough to grow up in the United States with enough room around us to think for ourselves. That’s not a luxury that most of the world has. I was raised in a Catholic family and am now an Atheist in my mid-20s. Sandy came up in a family that was not religious. We have both had the opportunity to live all over the world with people from different religious upbringings and that has allowed us to gain a unique perspective on religion. Just because someone has a different religious point of view doesn’t mean you can’t listen to what they have to say!
In this episode, we break down…
- Growing up in a Catholic family vs. a non-religious family
- Different factors that determine someone’s religion
- When people start cherry-picking the bible
- The positive sense of community that comes with religion
- 2 questions that have to be asked
- Why people have a hard time not believing in God
- Living with people of many different religious backgrounds
