Episode description

Wastewater networks play an essential role in maintaining public health and sanitation by containing and treating sewage. It is the responsibility of both the operator and those who are serviced by the system, to keep the network ‘healthy’.

Being mindful of what goes down your drain can avoid unnecessary calls to plumbers, protect your pipework and assist SA Water to keep treatment and other operational costs down as well as help safeguard the environment.

On this week’s Our State episode SA Water’s General Manager of Customers, Strategy and Innovation, Anna Jackson, tells listeners all about the importance of keeping our wastewater network healthy and how SA Water is playing its part in ensuring a reliable sewer network and reducing the instances of sewer blockages and overflows through a range of initiatives.
