Episode description

In this episode, we’re showing love to the woman who’s quietly making major moves in the world of sports—Nicole Lynn. If her name doesn’t ring a bell yet, don’t worry... it will.

Nicole isn’t just in the room, she’s running it. As the first Black woman to represent a top NFL draft pick and the current President of Football Operations at Klutch Sports (yes, the same Klutch that reps LeBron, Jalen Hurts, and Miles Garrett), her resume speaks loudly. I did my research, and let’s just say—I’m a fan.

Tune in as we talk about breaking barriers, managing talent at the highest level, and why Nicole Lynn is the blueprint.

Hey. Hey, it's Zaina, host of Operations Unfiltered, the podcast that takes you behind the scenes of influencer and talent management. Spring Break is here, and listen, I know the hair appointments are stressing you out, but don't panic. A Cly Hair Care Center has your back for the entire month of April. Kids hairstyles are 20% off. You heard me write all April 20% off styles for the kids and with two convenient locations, one in Oxen Hill and one right near bwi.

I. Getting your kids fresh and photo ready has never been easier. So go ahead and book your appointment at eely hair care center.com and tell them Erena sent you. Now let's start the show. Welcome to Operations Unfiltered, the podcast that takes you behind the scenes of influencer and talent management. I'm your host, Zaina, and today I'm shedding a little bit of a spotlight on a powerhouse in the world of sports. I'm talking about none other than the agent, Nicole Lynn.

If you don't know her name, get ready to be inspired because this woman is truly changing the game. No pun intended So without further ado, let's get into this week's episode of Operations Unfiltered you guys know that sports management is such a male dominated industry, but Nicole Lynn came in and said, excuse me, I got this. Not only is she the first black woman to represent a top NFL draft pick, but she's also the president of football operations at Clutch Sports.

Yes, I'm talking about the Clutch Sports home to LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Jalen, Hertz, miles, Garrett, and of course some other big industry names. I did my research because I'm absolutely a fan of Nicole, and I wanted to know where her journey started. So based on what I could Google, her journey started not with footballs and contract negotiations. It started with pure grit and raw talent.

She grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, graduated from the University of Oklahoma, and later went on to become a sports agent. And of course when she first got into the industry, she was often the only black woman in the room. But of course that didn't stop her. And now she's not just in the room, she's leading the room period. What makes Nicole even more inspiring is her strategy. She doesn't just sign athletes. She helps them to build legacy.

She's been vocal about ensuring her clients are financially educated, and you guys know how much I love financial literacy. She wants them to think beyond their playing careers, and she wants them to set themselves up for generational wealth. I mean, that's the perfect kind of agent to have in your corner. We didn't even talk numbers. The deals that she's signed has been ridiculous.

She made history by securing Jalen Hertz a five year, $255 million contract with the Philadelphia Eagles, which at that time was one of the highest paid NFL contracts in history. And of course she didn't stop there. She just recently locked in a massive five year, $125 million contract extension from Miles Garrett, which is one of like the highest non QB paid salaries ever. So shout out to Nicole.

I. Not to mention, she's an author, she wrote, agent, you show up, do the work, and succeed on your own terms, where she's giving gems on how to break barriers, embrace your power, and carve out success in any industry. So make sure you guys have that on your reading list. We might need to do a debrief on operations Unfiltered. Now you guys know I love sports. I'm in my football girl era. I love the WNBA, but more than anything, I really love the business behind it.

I have to say, if there's anyone I would wanna shadow for a day, it would have to be Nicole. Imagine the deals, the strategy, the behind the scenes moves. Nicole, if you are listening, I would love to just be a fly on the wall. I promise I would take great notes. I won't get in your way. I would just love to learn from you.

But in all seriousness we need to give flowers to women like Agent Nicole Lynn, women who break barriers, who make power moves, and who remind us that no industry is off limits. Whether you're in business, entertainment or influencer and marketing project management, like me her journey is proof that you can shake up the system and carve out your own lane. That's all for this episode of Operations Unfiltered.

Make sure you follow me for more insights, deep dives, and of course, my unfiltered takes. Until next time, let's keep making moves. Let's keep taking up space and remember, you belong in the room. See you next time.
