SERIES SYNOPSIS: Open-Mic (the sit-com) is a Rom-Com in reverse. Daph feels as outdated as the motifs on her husband's tee-shirts. She can remember when she got married but not why. To escape Reg's torpor she seeks sanctuary in their garden shed. There, she discovers her old guitar. But the hustle and bustle of OPEN-MIC nights are a far cry from the conservative folk evenings she recalls with such affection. And so her journey begins, but how will it end?
OPEN-MIC (the sit-com) follows Daph's hilarious exploits through the vagaries of the open-mic music scene, and the many characters she meets, all seeking that elusive gig.
In the mould of the traditional sit-com, OPEN-MIC as reassuring as flares, funk and Fanny Craddock, packed with sketches and gags galore. OPEN-MIC (the sit-com) is Boomer Humour at its most visceral. Not quite near the knuckle but guaranteed to fettle your funny bone. Whether you are a seasoned musician, or plain tone deaf, Daph’s quest for independence is sure to strike a chord and keep you laughing.
