This episode of One More Time follows a senior member of the Marching Illini through preseason camp. In addition, Stephen talks with section leaders, members, and staff regarding their perspectives. Scott Schwartz (Director of the Sousa Archive and Center for American Music) discusses Sousa’s connection with the University of Illinois and other collegiate bands. Dr. Marja Kerney, Instructor at Western Michigan University teaching percussion and music theory and formerly of Kennesaw State University, provides our two-minute technique for the month.
