(upbeat music) Hey, Danny here from One Minute Podcast Tips. This Friday, December 8th, One Minute Podcast Tips turns 1.
And to celebrate, I'm having a special episode with some of my favourite podcasters sharing their own One Minute Podcast Tips. There'll be both a video and audio version. So be sure to check it out this Friday, either on your favourite podcast app or on YouTube at OneMinutePodcastTips.com/YouTube. Now, this week's episode. When it comes to the listener experience for your podcast, obviously the quality of your audio is key.
And I spoke before in episode 44 about how to improve the quality of your audio before you actually start recording. And while great audio is important for all listeners, it's also really important for a specific community. Just as transcripts are really important for the hard of hearing community, making sure your audio is clean is super important for those that suffer from misophonia. Misophonia is an extreme intolerance to certain sounds.
Now most often these are ones that come from the nose, throat or mouth, which include chewing, coughing, sniffling or lip smacking. Now it's that last one that's relevant for podcasting. Lip smacking happens when you have a dry throat and when you're speaking you can hear sort of little clicks in your voice and that's why it's called lip smacking, it sounds like you're smacking your lips together.
Now on a podcast this can come across really clearly because obviously you're speaking closer to a microphone and a lot of podcast listeners listen via headphones and the problem with misophonia, it causes really bad reactions for people that suffer from it. That includes feelings of anxiety, panic and rage. The good news is it's really easy to clear up these sounds.
You can either use free solutions like Auphonic which has a really good mouth noise remover Or you can use a premium plugin, like iZotope De-Click, and that plugin works with most editing software. And I'll leave links to those in the show notes, so be sure to check them out after the episode. Until the next time, happy podcasting. (upbeat music) Thanks for listening. If you enjoy One Minute Podcast Tips, be sure to share with your friends and other podcasters so they can enjoy it too.
Until the next time, happy podcasting. (upbeat music) (upbeat music)
