(clapping) You're listening to One Minute Podcast Tips. I'm your host, Danny Brown. And each episode brings you snack-sized tips to be a better podcaster. And if you enjoy the show, you can now support with a one-off donation at oneminutepodcasttips.com/support. And now, this week's episode. When it comes to publishing your episode, you have three choices. There's bonus, there's trailer, and there's normal. and there's a time for using each of them.

The good thing is, as their names suggest, they're all pretty self-explanatory. Trailer is when you want to create a trailer to promote your podcast. And the cool thing is, as your show progresses, you can update your trailer at any time and just replace the old one so the trailer's always up to date. For bonus content, that really comes into play when there's content you want to publish that's not a normal episode.

So let's say you publish an episode that's 30 minutes long or an hour long, but now and again, you just want to include a quick five or 10 minute snippet. Now it could be about the same topic, but it could be a news story about that topic or your own take on something that's happened in the news. So what you could do is record that 5 minute section, upload it and publish it as a bonus episode.

Depending on the podcast host you use, they'll filter it as bonus content, so then the podcast apps that support bonus filters will also highlight that as bonus content, so regular listeners will know this is something extra. And finally there's Normal, which, as the name suggests, is the normal episode. Until the next time, happy podcasting! (upbeat music) Thanks for listening.
