(clapping) You're listening to One Minute Podcast Tips. I'm your host, Danny Brown. And each episode brings you snack-sized tips to be a better podcaster. And if you enjoy the show, you can now support with a one-off donation at oneminutepodcasttips.com/support. And now, this week's episode.
Your podcast intro and outro can really help attract a bigger audience, so it's important to get yours right, whether you're using it as an intro to the show or usings ads as dynamic pre-rolls and post-rolls. So what should your intro and outro look like? You should always have a recap of who you are and what the podcast is about and who it benefits. This ensures listeners can join at any time and know what to expect. Make sure to offer a sneak peek at what's coming up in your intro.
This can be a cold start from a guest or an overview of who's on and what they're talking about. Share where to connect, either online or email if you want. This helps grow your online audience and can be used in either intro or outro. If using your intro as ad space or for a sponsor message, personalise and make sure it's relevant to the show. These are just some of the ways to use your intro and outro to tighten up your show and to make sure everyone knows exactly what they're getting.
