(clapping) You're listening to One Minute Podcast Tips. I'm your host, Danny Brown. And each episode brings you snack-sized tips to be a better podcaster. And if you enjoy the show, you can now support with a one-off donation at oneminutepodcasttips.com/support. And now, this week's episode. When it comes to what format your podcast should be in, there are three main choices. Episodic, Episodic with Seasons, and Serial.
The first two are pretty straightforward and just mean that listeners can jump in at any time regardless of what episode they actually start listening to your podcast. They won't be confused because each episode stands on its own. Episodic with Seasons just means that you're taking a break between seasons so maybe a summer break, seasonal break, but listeners can still jump in at any time no matter what season or episode.
With Serial, that's more geared towards storytelling podcasts and requires the listener to start at the very beginning with episode one. When you create your podcast with your podcast host, you would choose what format you wish. Episodic, episodic with seasons, or serial. And then it would generally display episodes newest first for episodic and oldest first for serial. Until the next time, happy podcasting.
