(clapping) You're listening to One Minute Podcast Tips. I'm your host, Danny Brown, and each episode brings you snack-sized tips to be a better podcaster. And if you enjoy the show, you can now support with a one-off donation at oneminutepodcasttips.com/support. And now, this week's episode. When it comes to recording your podcast episodes, there are pros and cons of batch recording. Batch recording is where you record a bunch of episodes and schedule them ready for future publishing.

Now as mentioned, there are pros and cons to this. The pros include getting ahead of your schedule, and that means you've got more time to yourself. So that can cover vacations, quiet times, or just want to take a break from the show and recharge your batteries. It can also help you pre-plan promotions and marketing for your episodes. And if you're ill, it doesn't mean you're scrambling around trying to record an episode.

I'm a little bit under the weather today, as you might be able to hear, so recording this ahead of time would have helped a lot. But there are cons. For one, it's a lot of work, because you're recording, editing and scheduling a whole bunch of episodes at the same time. Additionally, your schedule can change without warning. So, if you're planning ahead and you need to change dates, you're having to juggle your content calendar to try and make the episodes fit.

Now, if you've already told your guests or your listeners what date a particular episode's coming out and you need to change that, that can also mess up your calendar. And if a news story about a future topic broke and you want to take advantage, having it pre-recorded can make that difficult. It really comes down to your own personal preference and your own workflow, but it definitely can help if you want to plan ahead. Until the next time, happy podcasting. Thanks for listening.
