Podcast hosting company analytics are excellent and can really help you understand the growth of your show and where you need to add some more focus.
Combining those with third-party tracking tools, though, can really help you understand your audience. Here are three examples and how they can help. The first one is Chartable. This allows you to see US household demographics, but you can also connect Spotify and access how long people are listening to each episode, as well as see demographics on Spotify. Second is Podtrac. This offers important audience data like age, gender, education, income level, job function, and more.
You can also create surveys to share with your listeners to understand them even better. And the third one is Podder. Much like Podtrac, this platform shares in-depth info on demographics, but also identifies how they feel about your show when discussing it online, to create personality traits for your audience. All of this data allows you to create your podcast listener persona, which is your ideal listener.
This, in turn, can really help you attract better sponsors, since you can share real deep-dive data about your listener base, making your show a more valuable partner to those sponsors.
