If your podcast is on YouTube via RSS, especially now that YouTube Music Supports podcast RSS feeds, there's a bit of a catch when it comes to analytics. You won't find these numbers in YouTube Studio. That's because episodes delivered through RSS don't behave like standard YouTube videos. Instead they're treated like audio first content and all the analytics - so your normal plays, downloads, etc. - are reported by your podcast host, not YouTube.

So if someone listens on the YouTube Music app or even through the regular YouTube app via RSS delivery, it's your hosting provider - so Captivate Buzzsprout, etc. - that tracks those plays. But if you manually upload video versions of your podcast to YouTube or create your own playlist, then yes, YouTube Studio will show those views and insights. So quick recap.

RSS fed episodes, they all come from your podcast host, manually uploaded videos and audio playlists, check YouTube Studio for these analytics. Until the next time, happy podcasting.
