Hi, I'm Terry Cook and you are listening to the 1 minute driving interrupt Tips podcast, the show that helps you become a better Adi in under two minutes. And this show is part of the Instructor podcast network. Find out more@theinstructorpodcast.com today is tip number 43 and we've got a tip, recorded live at the expo from Inspire instructor training's Phil Cowley. Hi, I'm Phil from inspire instructor training. So my top tip is to shut up.
So whether that is after you've asked your pupil a question and you're holding the silence and just not talking for a while and let them be the one that breaks the silence, or even actually after the pupil has finished talking, just take a second to stay silent. Have they finished talking? Do they want to add more onto it? But it also gives you that opportunity to really just take in what they've said and actually analyze. Like, have I actually listened to what they've said?
Rather than being ready to jump in instantly with what have you said? So yeah, be. More quiet is. My tip. So I hope you found this tip useful. And for more advice on becoming a better adihe hit, subscribe and join me every Monday on the 1 minute drive, the Instructor Tips podcast.
