Episode description

Kelly Conheeney played professional soccer in the NWSL for the Sky Blue FC and Houston Dash, played in Sweden, and played collegiately for Virginia Tech from 2009-2013.  Kelly talks about growing up in Ridgewood, NJ, how she got into soccer, playing club soccer for the Montclair Aristocats, and her excellent career at Ridgewood High School.  She describes the recruiting process, why she picked Virginia Tech, playing right away for the Hokies, her phenomenal first 3 years there, playing in the W League in 2012, and scoring the winning PK for the championship.  Kelly then discusses the concussion issues she faced, having to sit out 2 years at Virginia Tech because of them, not being about to play in the Final Four, and her year with Coaches Across Continents.  She  talks about her journey back to soccer, how she made the NWSL, and scoring the game winning goal against Hope Solo in her first game.
