Episode description

Caity Whiteley Connors played lacrosse at the University of Virginia from 2006-2010 and scored 3 goals in UVA's inspiring NCAA Tournament win against Towson in 2010 after the death of her roommate and teammate Yeardley Love.  Caity talks about growing up in Phoenix, Maryland, how she got into lacrosse, other sports she played, and her great high school career at St. Paul's where her father coached her and her sister to a championship her senior year.  She describes the recruiting process, why she chose Virginia, and the well-rounded college experience she had which included traveling abroad.  She then discusses her great 4 year career at Virginia where they went to a Final Four, won several ACC Tournaments, and never missed an NCAA Tournament,  Caity details her senior season in 2010, which was her best on the field, but a terrible year as her good friend Yeardley Love was killed.  She describes the person that Yeardley was, the decision to continue with the season, the inspiring win over Towson, what the One Love Foundation is, and her contributions to it.  Caity discusses her life now with her husband in Charleston, SC, and the travel company she founded: Caity Connors Travel
