Episode description

Barbara Turner is a current professional basketball player in Turkey who has also played in the WNBA, and played collegiately at UConn from 2002-2006.  She talks about growing up in Cleveland, Ohio, being the youngest of six kids, getting her passion for basketball through her grandmother, her great career at East Technical High School, and how important winning a state championship was to the city.  Barbara describes her recruiting process, why she chose UConn, what it was like to play for Coach Geno Auriemma, and winning National Championships as a Freshman and Sophomore.  She discusses winning the Big East Tournament her Junior year, her game-winning shot in the Sweet Sixteen her Senior year, and not being able to play in the overtime loss in the Elite Eight due to cramping. Barbara then talks about her career in the WNBA and her path to a professional basketball career in Turkey, where she continues to have success.
