Episode description

Alexandra Maund played basketball at Yale University from 2015-2019 and then played her Graduate Transfer year at George Washington University in 2020.  She talks about growing up in Dorchester, Massachusetts, coming from an athletic family, how she got into basketball, and being on the Varsity team as a 7th grader. She discusses her decision to attend the boarding school Nobles & Greenough, the hard work she put in on the basketball court, and the great athletic and academic career she had there.  Alexandra describes her recruiting process, why she chose Yale, tearing her Achilles her Freshman year and having to redshirt, and her highlights during her 3 years of playing.  She then explains the Ivy League's rule on no 5th year players, transferring to George Washington to play her last season, and the terrific 2020 season she had in a system that fit her style of play.  Alexandra then goes into detail about her own Podcast, "Baskets and Brains", which dives into athletes' passions outside of sports.
