Episode description

Abby Hatch played volleyball at the University of Michigan from 2013-2016, and then joined the Michigan basketball team for the 2017 season.  she talks about growing up in Grand Haven, Michigan, as the oldest child, always being the tallest when she was younger, and playing tennis, basketball, and volleyball growing up.  Abby then describes her amazing career at Grand Haven High school in both basketball (where she won back-to-back state championships and came in 3rd place in Miss Basketball voting) and volleyball (where her team was successful and she came in 2nd in Miss Volleyball voting).  She talks about the recruiting process, choosing the University of Michigan, her amazing 4 year career there playing in the best college volleyball conference and making it all the way to the Sweet Sixteen as a senior, and her time on the basketball team, despite never getting to play due to injury.  Abby then goes into detail about meeting her husband, Austin Hatch, and his inspirational story of surviving 2 plane crashes.  She tells the story of how they met, their strong connection, walking with Austin on his Senior Day, the proposal story, and their beautiful wedding.
