Episode description

On this very funky episode of One and Done TV, Ian and John move and groove to the 2016 Netflix musical drama The Get Down created by Baz Luhrmann and starring Justice Smith and Shameik Moore! Travel to the boogie down Bronx in the late 1970’s where hip-hop and disco converge with lovers, friends, gangs, drugs, and holier-than-thou Giancarlo Esposito! Ian dives into the rabbit hole of Lord of the Rings mythos - Gandalf spoilers ahead! John shares his thoughts on Jerrod Carmichael’s directorial debut On the Count of Three. Ian and John find several crossovers with Brooklyn’s own Jimmy Smits and Pulitzer Prize winner Stephen Adly Guirgis, debate the differences between lore and fanfiction, and look back on the stream of 70’s New York shows created throughout the 2010’s. Plus - someone’s feathered hair is discussed and Fat Annie gives us quite the memorable threat!
