On This Day and Working Class History the twenty fifth of January film and on the twenty fifth of January twenty twenty two, over five hundred workers at the Dangote Industry Zambia cement plant near Endola launched a wildcat strike demanding a pay increase. The workers, who were subcontractors employed by Cylonda Engineering, had been offered a fifteen per cent pay increase, but instead they demanded an increase in their monthly minimum wage from one thousand quatcha up to two thousand,

five hundred quatcha. The strike ended on the twenty eighth of January when the employer agreed to increase all workers' wages by one thousand quacha.
