Episode description

What's good family!?! On this episode of On the Run we welcomed world famous boxer and Las Vegas' own Jessie Magdaleno. Jessie broke down his humble beginnings from fighting as a kid in Compton, California to joining a boxing gym and going 120-16 as an amateur before going pro.

On the way to the pros Jessie became the United States National Champion as well as the Golden Gloves National Champion. Once pro Jessie fought his way to a 29-3 record and the WBO junior featherweight / super bantamweight champion after beating the legendary Filipino Flash, Nonito Donaire.

We talked Jessie about life as a boxer including the difficulties of cutting weight, what the differences are between the amateurs and the pros, and what his most difficult fight was. We also talked extensively about life outside of the ring including how he dealt with the managerial/financial side of boxing, getting through the mental toll of losing the world title, and what he wants to accomplish after it's time to hang up the gloves.

Whether you're a fan of Jessie, a fan of boxing, or simply want to know what the mindset, mentality, and lifestyle is of someone in the upper echelon of combat sports, you don't want to miss this episode. ENJOY!
