Episode description

Who could be dubbed by Mike Tirico as "More famous than the governor of Virginia"? Bill Roth. From "The Blue Waters of the Chesapeake Bay to the Hills of Tennessee”, fans of Virginia Tech athletics listened to Bill for over 20 years. After a one year stint at UCLA, Bill now splits his time between calling national games for ESPN and Westwood One, and working at Virginia Tech where he is a professor and spearheads the Sports Media and Analytics major at the university. In episode 7 of the pod, we talk to Bill about his Hall of Fame class at Syracuse University, what he likes most about the town of Blacksburg, teaching the next generation of sports broadcasters and much more!
