In 1987, 35-year-old biochemist Peter Becci - who relocated from New York to the Lima, Ohio suburb of Shawnee Township with his family - was murdered in the basement of his home. Police said after failing to get interviews with his estranged wife who quickly moved to Florida, they gave up, saying the case was costing the small department too much money.
