This is off track. Hello guys, and welcome to another episode of Off Track with Hinch and Rossi. It's a very exciting episode. Some , huge news in the indie car world. Dropped, um, I didn't see it coming, Alex. I don't know what insight you had on it coming, but, uh, a bit of a game changer in a lot of ways. So I think, I know we we're gonna cover Christmas and New Year and all that stuff, but like, let's dive straight into it.
To be clear, Alex and I have no
Idea what Nope. , IndyCar announced that drivers have access to a larger diameter steering wheel from Cosworth , and it's gonna really help with the leverage. Um, with the heavier cars, there's more buttons and flaps for the hybrid system. Oh, so there's, I mean, I, I read some quotes from Paolo. He's, he is psyched James and that guy, he knows what he's doing. James, Alex
IndyCar brought the greatest technological innovation that has been applied to a series in the middle of a championship in Motorsport history.
Well, 'cause it's the only one that's been applied in the middle of a championship. So this, so yeah, this,
So this is just a continuation of that,
The groundbreaking trendsetting
Movements. So, do you wanna know, do you wanna know that article's? A little bit false. Oh. Um, so the stock wheel mm-hmm . Is, um, a little bit larger than the stock mark one wheel. Mm-hmm . Um, but there were larger options that we had available to us that were even larger than the new cause worth wheel. So it being larger is actually, will be still smaller. So it's, if people use, choose to use it, it's
Larger for the Cosworth wheel, but it's not as big as the biggest option for Mark one
Or MPI or anything. Yes. So really what it does is the buttons light
, but doesn't it have some paddles on the back that are helpful for hybrid stuff and whatever that like, you can't apply to the current wheel. I heard, like that was something I read on.
No, the, the paddles come stock with the light up buttons. So like, you don't have to add paddles retroactively. Right.
Okay. So what are you saying is you're not game changer.
It's a game changer. I'm, I'm not gonna use it. Um,
Do you use the larger, the largest diameter wheel?
No, I use the, the standard wheel. I can't use a larger one because I, I was gonna, I was gonna ask, is that a problem for you? My wheel, because you're a guy. My, I'm too tall. I do use the larger one on short ovals where knee clearance doesn't matter.
Right. You're not, you're not doing 180 degrees walk, ideally. Correct.
Um, but yes. No, this the, the wheel is irrelevant. Um, it'll certainly totally
Just destroyed my open, but I'm will it, it, it, it's newer technology, so a lot of, um, it'll make the dag uh, so they're the data acquisition.
I thought that was just what they called dogs in that one
Movie type type thing. Snatch. Yeah. Um, it'll make their jobs easier because the current wheel, uh, the majority of the buttons are kind of programmed via like hard wiring to a circuit board. Right. Whereas the new wheel is like, brought into the century. You plug it in control,
Computer C, control V, push the button, assign this button to do that, that toggle to do that. Right. So like from that standpoint, it's way better. Yeah. Yeah. But from an actual driver interface, it's, the buttons are colors. That's it. But The screen's bigger by a millimeter. Right.
Like it's, it's like, Hey, we went from an iPhone 12 to an iPhone 13, give us your money. .
Right, right. Give us $18,000.
Give us all of your money. Yeah. . Um, so yeah, no, I don't know. It's, it is what it is. But, uh, game changer.
Is that what I'm, is that what a wheel costs right now? I remember back hearing like years ago, was 10 grand for a wheel? No,
I think in the article it said it was like 19 grand.
Wow. So, so I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna rant a little bit here. Um,
God, I love it. Alex rant.
It's been a minute. No. So I'm, I am opinionated about this wheel because I've had a lot of time spent on this wheel. So, okay. Then
Opine, buddy, you got opinions. Time to opine.
Um, so this, this, this, this new standard wheel that has been approved by IndyCar, um, and offered to all the teams, which a lot of teams are gonna, are gonna make the investment, uh,
Offered for $19,000 a piece.
They're gonna make the investment to upgrade it because it is gonna take some workload off some of the engineers. Yeah. Um, and it will reduce some potential failure rates of cars. And like, that's, that's all a good thing. Right? The problem is that Cosworth has another wheel that is smaller, IE the same size of the, as the current stock cause worth wheel that the majority of people use. Okay. And for guys that are five foot, five to six foot tall, this three quarters of an inch is irrelevant.
Right. For guys like myself, hunter Ray, I presume Graham, I presume Right. Who are wedged in there and have had seats since 20 17, 20 18, like myself. And like you've, you've maximized everything from the pedals to the, the, the heel or the knee surrounds and, and everything is really like you're at the limit of fitting in this car. IndyCar is not approving that wheel for use. And it's really frustrating the stock cosworth wheel. The stock cosworth wheel. So the, they're
Basically saying, if you wanna use a cause with wheel, you have to spend the money to upgrade to the new one.
No, no, no, no. They're not approving the new original size wheel. IE if you are too big in the car and have to run the smaller wheel, you're not allowed to have the new one.
Why? So basically you, you have to
Use the old one if you wanna keep that size correct.
Because even they have,
They have a newer one that's that size.
Correct? Yes. Okay. Yep. The reason is it,
It makes sense. 'cause if you think
,
That actually was pretty good actually. Freeze,
Actually it looked It looked like you froze. That was good. .
The reason this is gonna, this is gonna, this is, you're gonna die.
Maybe you shouldn't say it No, it's, well, the reason is, um, because on the back there are some additions of some toggles. Yes. Or maybe it's buttons, I don't know. Okay. On the, on it's, yeah, it's Like paddles.
Well, there's paddles, so they're like, it's, there's the upshift paddle, downshift paddle clutch paddles, and then F1 s there's little mini toggles above the upshift downshift paddles. Right, right. Which could be used for deploy region, whatever. But then behind the grips, it's either buttons or toggles, um, on the new cause earth wheel. Right. The new cause earth wheel of the smaller size behind the grips has the opposite.
And so it's like, well, we can't, we can't have one person have an advantage.
One's got buttons and the other one's got toggles.
.
So I'm just gonna say,
Oh, What are we doing? Yeah. Okay. Well that's good. Yeah. Nope. Yeah. You're, you're, you're dumb, Alex, that's, that, that reason's great. I don't know why, what you don't understand, that's very clear and makes honest
Sense. Well, no, because like, for sure, you don't want it to be different across different drivers. So like Yeah. You can totally just use the old one, which is completely different buttons and toggles
Just so the, the viewer at home understands you can make your own wheel from scratch. Mm. You can just make a brand, you can custom build a brand new wheel. Mm. But having toggles instead of buttons or buttons instead of toggles, that might be an advantage for somebody. Hmm. Anyway, how was Christmas
Marginally better than the wheel
.
Okay. No, uh, Christmas, Christmas was, was great. Um, so we went up to Canada. Um, there was freezing rain, um, on the day that we were going up, uh, freezing rain, James, real bad. Real bad. In the airplanes. Um, yes.
Bad for planes. to you the color scale? Yep. Purple for thunderstorms and like purple is dead. Yeah. Okay. Well, guaranteed death, there's something beyond purple when it's, uh, freezing rain and it's purple with black dots. Got it. And so like, if you were guaranteed death with purple, like, like you're, you're double dead. Right? Right. Freezing, Freezing rain, like extra seriously like freezing rain, like commercial airplanes can't even fly in it.
Like it's a big Right. It's a big problem. So After you died of death, you then freezed to death as well? For sure. For
Sure. Yeah. Okay. Got it. It's . We, uh, our only kind of solution was we flew into Niagara Falls and then rented a car and drove across the border and, and made our way up to Toronto that way. Okay. Which was still a net gain of three and a half hours each way. Um, which is still positive, but that's kind of how it started. Which not optimum, but we're alive. So good.
Um, and then, uh, we, we spent Kelly's fam, or we spent Christmas with Kelly's family kind of across, so we, we were there for three nights, slept in two different houses. So we started in her mom's house, then we moved to her sister's house. So we went back to her mom's house, . So that moving a bunch of stuff and dogs and everything like that.
Awesome. Yeah. So much fun.
Um, and then some kids were sick, so as they are
Always right. Especially
At the holidays, especially in the winter. Um, so we came home with some sniffles. Um, but you know what, it's, that's not what matters. What matters is everyone in the moment Christmas morning, Christmas morning, especially with young kids is pretty cool.
Yeah. Yeah. To watch their joy for three hours and then their joy turned into frustration when their new drone batteries die, and then they have to charge it and they don't understand why they can't keep playing with their toy and all this sort of thing. But long story short, it was a very, um, rewarding time and it was good to catch up with everyone and we're back home and that is all. There you go. So I know you were also, you also were in Canada?
I also was in Canada. Yeah. Becky and I went up, uh, well, we've talked since then. Um, but yeah, so Christmas was, Christmas was great. I mean, it's, it's funny you make the, the young kids comment 'cause it's kind of the same thing, right? Like my sister's daughter, my niece is, well, she turns five in like, well, probably the day this comes out. I don't know what day of the week it is, guys, if I'm honest. Um, she'll be 5 1 10.
This will, this will come on January 2nd.
That's her birthday. Happy birthday, Kaylee. Mm-hmm .
And our Tuesday episode will come out on Hazel's birthday.
Oh yeah, that's right. Big birthday week, guys. Um, but it's, it's just all about her. Like, it's, it's, I mean, we have one kid, I mean,
About both of them, but So did you. Um, but yes, no, uh, so, so it's just all about Kayleigh and like everybody just spoils her. Like we don't even really get each other gifts anymore, like by siblings and like everybody, we just like, let's just all blow our money on Kaleigh. 'cause that's cooler anyway. A hundred percent. And so, uh, so yeah, we, you know, my mom and Becky's parents live with all within like a 12 minute range of each other. And so we actually just,
we stayed in our place. 'cause the last couple is that
Metric minutes or imperial
Minutes, those are metric, the real system Okay. Of measuring things. , um, and
63.3 seconds in a minute. Yeah,
Exactly. , God, those imperial minutes worst. So for the last couple of Christmases, we've actually like slept in separate houses on Christmas Eve. Like I would sleep at my mom's house, 'cause to be there for Kayleigh in the morning. And she would stay with her parents to be with them in the morning. But this year we stayed in our own place. And then we d went to mom's house early, did a couple hours there at Christmas with, with Kaylee.
And, and, uh, my sister, uh, my brother and his wife were actually down in Indianapolis where her family is. So he was, we did like a dinner earlier in the week with them. Uh, so yeah, so it was small group for Christmas, but again, it was all about Kaylee and it was just so much fun just giving her, I was the one who was handing out the presents and it was just hilarious. It was like four to one ratio for everyone else in the room.
And you just, kids just ripping everything apart and wanna, she's so good though, man. Like, I don't, I was not like this as a kid. I was a nightmare, I think. But like, she gets all, all these toys. Correct. That's why I assume I was like that as a kid. But like, you get all these toys and I just wanted to open them and play with them all right then and there. But with Kayleigh, like, we're like, no Kayleigh, we can't open this one until we're done opening all the presents.
And she's like, Kayleigh, she's such a good kid about it. So, uh, so that was, that was great. And then we have like a Christmas Eve tradition that we did, which is we'd go see a movie and then go to like one of the two restaurants that's open on Christmas Eve. So we did that with some family friends, which was nice.
Um, one thing on the gift thing that was wild to me, so, um, we, we were helping, uh, Dawn Kelly's sister kind of finalize wrapping some of the last minute gifts and all this sort of thing. And so she has two boys, uh, I think it's like nine, six. And then their little girl is not even two years old yet. And, um, she was like super stressed because she was like, oh, the, the piles aren't the same size.
And I was like, so what matters more like the monetary value that you spend, or like, or the number of gifts, just the number of gifts or the size of the gifts. And she was like, it's kind of like a hot, crazy scale. Like the kids are smart enough to know that. Like sometimes it's, it could be a small gift, but like for example, Sam, who is the middle child, he got a drone. And even though that, like, the package was small, like monetary value, quite high.
So like happy, but like big box crayons, not that interesting. So it's, it was very, and she was like really panicking to make sure that like everything was right. So your sister has that to look forward to. And she has another one. Like it's,
Well, yeah, The best part right now. And like, I know my mom was so, so like conscientious about that when we were kids, right? Like, it had to be, if it wasn't the same number, it was same kind of. But here's the thing, when you're a kid, you don't know what stuff costs. Like Yeah, fine. You know that a PlayStation costs more than crayons. But like, you're not sitting there doing the math on that. Right.
I mean, I feel like they do, like, their Christmas list to Santa was like, Rolex, McLaren, , .
Are you sure? They didn't just get mine. He was
Five .
My, uh, hi God, I, I'm, I'm, I don't even know if I should tell this story, but my grandma used to do a really messed up thing. 'cause I'm one of like 22 cousins on my mom's side. And so around Christmas she would have all these envelopes out and you would take turns and like the grandkids would go pick an envelope and you'd just pick one at random. And like, a few of them had checks for a good amount of money. And then the rest of 'em were just empty.
So it was like five people would get something out of 22 .
I can't tell if I love that or hate
. It was, it
Was pretty weird. I don't, I don't love it.
It was pretty weird. you just have to do like the white elephant thing, right. Or like secret santa. And so everyone just gets one gift because it's just too many. It's just too much stuff. Now uh, there was a time when I don't, my grandma didn't really didn't really like me, but, uh, she would, there would be some kids she'd favor others, she wouldn't. And I was like, going for one envelope. And she's like, no, no, no. Grab that one. Grab this one.
And she guided me to an empty envelope away from one with a
. Grandma's a savage . Yeah. Love
That. So love that. Things were, things were, were a little cutthroat in the CVAs clan growing up. That's good.
Yeah. Yeah. I get that. That's how you breed winners, man. . Um, I ate, so Becky and her mom made like a, like a metric ton of shortbread cookies, which was awesome. I ate so much shortbread.
That's eat cookies, Alex, in real measurement. Right,
Right. I get, I get it. Yeah. I hate you so much. We shortbread, shortbread a weird, weird, uh, weird go with that. Like, I understand traditionally, like that's a
Christmas, a Christmas cookie, right?
Yeah. Yeah. But it's not, it's the worst one.
I completely disagree. I think shortbread is amazing. I love shortbread. I think it's a British and meat. It's just, it's basically just like solid butter. It's like baked butter . I mean, it's incredible. They're so good. I can't believe you don't like shortbread, but you also like Red Vine, so nobody can trust your taste in anything. Sweet.
It's offensive. he's right about that though. Yeah. It's
A fact. And that's from
<;crosstalk>;? No, no. I'm saying Alex is right.
Oh,
What? Not Red Vines. Not like Red Vines.
No, we like, he
Red Vines. Oh, he does like Red Vines. That's right. I mixed it up. You're right. No, Alex is wrong. Yes.
Thank you. Then also kind of woke up sick on Boxing Day, which again for you guys is the 26th
December. Hey, remember when I was like, around this time of year everybody gets sick and you guys are like, nah, I don't, nah.
Well, no, because we don't have kids. I was around, I was around a kid and so I got a little sick.
I mean, it's, well, except you, I'm still
. Wait, that's not a joke up. Yeah. You didn't think that one a
Problem. That might just be Indiana. I think I'm just perpetually clogging, like clogged up in Indiana.
So, so that was that. And then the day before we recorded this, so I drove home today, which is what we, was it Sunday we're doing this. So Saturday night was that 20th high school reunion we was telling you about. Wild Man. Oh
Yeah. Wild. Okay. Was it everything that we expected? It would be
No better. It was not at all. It was better. It was way better. I was So the, uh,
Did you have the least amount of hair
Up there? Hmm. Up there. I will say I made this comment to, to my buddy Randall and, and my buddy Blaine, like Randall helped organize it, but I was like, I'll be honest, man. Like, you see these movie and movies, people go to their high school reunions, right? And there's like at least a couple people that just look like complete <inaudible>. Right? They put on 48 pounds. They're bald, they're missing teeth. They're like, they just look awful. Our group aged pretty well.
Like everybody looked almost as good, if not in some cases looked better than they did in high school.
You know, if, if you don't see anybody who aged poorly, you are the one who aged poorly. Right.
And I, I totally am willing to. Well, okay, I just, I've seen there was pictures of us on the wall. I just know that's not true. Be because I couldn't grow a beard. I know I looked worse back then. That's why I have the beard. But I also,
I also, I also feel like, and, and this may be a very cynical thing to say, but you're gonna be way more incentivized to go to said reunion if you know you look good. And if you look like you probably ain't gonna go.
That's funny because one person who did not come told another person that was coming that they decided not to come because they felt fat and ugly. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm . And mm-hmm. And we all know what this person looks like and they look the same, they look great. Like they look fine. But it's such a funny thought when we heard that story, we're like, that's an insane thing to say. No. Makes perfect sense. Reason to not go. No.
Oh man, it's so funny. But it was, and this is where like, this is, this is a funny thing to think about and, and I realize it's because Becky and I are insanely lucky and we have very obscure jobs that a lot of people would love to have or would kill to have or whatever. But like, you meet these people, you haven't seen some of 'em, you haven't seen in 10
Years. Wait, do you have a job now? Sorry.
In theory, the jobs that I've had up to this point. Yeah, right. Um, and wait, do you, anyway, so, but like, you go
Two Sir , and it's like, yeah, I work in insurance, or I work in, in, uh, cybersecurity, or I work in banking, or I work in it. Like everybody has like, grown up jobs. I remember sitting there being like, man, I kind of feel like I don't have a real job. I know I don't have a real job. I don't have any job, but it's just like, it's just fascinating. Like, we were all the same. We were all just in high school together, going to the same classes and whatever.
And now they all have like, yeah. And they grew up. They grew up. But I feel like a, I feel like a lost boy from Peter Pan because I'm like, I don't really have a real job. I just, I travel the world. I talk about racing. It's not really like a real thing. But yeah, they all have just, they just have jobs now. It's crazy. That sounds fun. Not the job part, that sounds awful.
Was there, um, anything anyone where you were like, oh, forget looks like, oh, I remember you being a real <inaudible> in high school. Yes. Like, they were really nice. Yes. Or like still <inaudible> or was like, Nope.
Okay. Almost everybody again, of the ones that showed up, it wasn't the, it wasn't the full class, right? This wasn't like done through the school. This was just some of my buddies that did it. But there was two guys in particular that in high school, they were just like, and they know it. Like we talked about it. Like the guys were like, yeah man, I was an absolute train wreck in high school. Like, I can't believe I survived my twenties.
And it was like getting a job, getting married, having a kid. One guy even said, he was like, yeah, having a kid saved me because I was just, I was completely outta control. And I know that. And he now he's just like a super buttoned up dude, has a couple kids, couldn't have been nicer. Like great chat all the way around. So it was awesome, man. Like, it was really, really fun to connect with some of the people. Again, some of them I had no idea what they were up to.
Some of them, I had seen something on some social media. You kind of know that they live in this general area that they're married with x number of kids or whatever. But you wanna know specifics. But yeah, some of them I literally hadn't seen or even thought about for 20 years. And it was just great to catch up with some of 'em and, and see what was, uh, you know, what was keeping them busy. So that's cool. Um, I know you're never gonna get that experience Alex .
You don't never go to reunion. Yeah, that's
True. James, do you ever worry,
Do you ever worry that like one day he's just gonna decide to not be friends with us anymore? And that'll be the last time we've ever heard from Alex.
I'm not worried about it. to decide if I think that'll
He lose most I have like three friends and those are my friends forever. So I don't know which way it's gonna go. I feel like, Um, much like much , much like, uh, Connor talked about on Tuesday episode you guys have a pretty good contract, but you are still performance based . So
I got from a Christmas present. I don't know about you James .
No, all my money went to Kaylee. Sorry guys. Nobody got, Becky didn't even get a present this year.
You're still a year late on my last one.
I know. I was actually thinking about that yesterday. I was like, God damnit I forgot
,
You're just gonna, you're gonna get like a random package in like April . I'm gonna know. You'll understand. I mean, you'll get it. Like, you'll understand that it's a, it's a two year late Christmas present, but it's coming. Uh, it's Tim, how was your Christmas? We didn't, we didn't cover your
It's good. It's kind of the same thing, right? Like it was, it was for Hazel and it was for my nephews. I think I got like a sweater and a jacket and that was, that was about it. Couldn't have, couldn't have been better because Hazel had like the giant thing of Yeah. Of presents. Um, and then, like I said, we're recording this on Sunday, but her birthday will be Tuesday. So Hazel will be 11 by the time this comes out. Happy
Birthday Hazel.
Yeah. So we, uh, yeah, she, she had fun. Like my brother, uh, had her over to have a sleepover with my nephews and then he took her to Target for her birthday present. He was just like, get whatever you want up to a hundred bucks. Like, just nice, you know, pick out whatever you want. So, um, she unfortunately didn't pick out any whiskey for me.
Is her strategy. Is her strategy. Like as many things as you can get for a hundred bucks or like find one good thing that's closest to like nine. It was more,
It was more the a bunch of small things really, which would be great to fly home. Yeah. .
I, I, I, if you had asked me, I would've thought that she went the other way. I would've thought that she was like the, I'm gonna, I'm gonna track down one awesome thing for like $96.
Um, she did get a 3D printer from grandma for Christmas. That's awesome. I'm very excited about printer.
Yeah. . We gotta set that up in my room. , She like comes home like, you know, you don't have her for a week or something and she comes home and like all the, I don't know, ink, the cartridge, the material that you use is just all gone. Where did it all? Oh, I don't know. And there's just like chess set that you just made with all these ridiculous characters as the pieces.
They're off me. Every piece is me dressed in a different outfit. , I'm gonna do that.
You should totally do that. That is a hilarious. That's
Everybody's getting that for Christmas next year.
And we're gonna sell them, uh, as off track, uh, off track labeled chess sets designed and built by Tim Dur. And it's all just Tim wearing
Different hats. Yeah. I'm all for this. Oh yeah. And, uh, well, we're finally heading back to LA Friday. So, nice.
Um, did you guys do any of your escape room stuff that you were, did you find one that you hadn't done yet?
No. We just, we hung out and watched. Alex and I hung out and watched Heretic, that Hugh Grant movie. It was really good. Yeah.
Was it good? I've, it
We had that hot chicken again and then I made Alex watch Jeopardy. Dude,
Just the show. Yeah.
Uh, the chicken. So it's,
It was not as bad the second time. It was still rough.
Okay. We hung out Friday, I would say all the way until Sunday at two o'clock. I had heartburn and my stomach was upset. like it, oh,
That's so It's really not good. Like I was, it's so not worth it. I was, I was, I was like, oh, I'm, I'm getting sick again. Like, I was in pain on Saturday and it's like, how is this possible? Like what, what is in this that is somehow edible that is doing this to my body? Well, it's not really like, it's edible in the sense that like, it's not gonna kill you. Yeah. But like your body is telling you you should not eat it. Correct. That is the whole point.
And so what what's really stupid is I did it once and had this reaction and experience and Tim was like, let's do it again. I was like, yeah, yeah, yeah. But this time I'm gonna eat
. Yeah. This time we split a tender and we both finished our half.
Yeah. because this is a genuine thing I have about like spice in general. Okay. Often things are, they're just hot to be hot, right? There's no, no, there's no added flavor. Tastes great. That is
The thing.
Flavors And the chicken's cooked really well too. Like
It a good chicken Well. Honestly, honestly. I'll do it one more time when James does. Its,
I was gonna say we're all in town and it's only 7:00 PM
Dude, I got home an hour ago. Well now, two hours ago, and I leave in 12 hours. I, there's just no way. I would love to see you guys. I would love to. Can we do, oh, you're leaving. Can you like make some and we'll just freeze it? No. And then Alex and I can have it on like
The fifth James. It's like 10 minutes from your house.
You know what Tim? Swing by with his chicken sandwich. I'll eat it.
You'll eat the whole thing. so maybe not the whole thing. Just kind of based on like volume and room in my stomach. But you'll like have a coup two bites.
I'll have a couple bites. Alex, I'll meet you there.
I Please don't actually come. It would be so bad. Yeah, I can't, don't come. Don't come. That'd be hilarious for me. Walk.
I'm getting on a plane. But like first thing tomorrow morning, it would be very bad if I had just like chronic stomach issues for the next two days. It would
Not be bad. I mean, what's different? What would be different?
It's true. It's true. Just
A more elaborate version of what I already deal with. You
Don't have a great thumb test. I did not.
A great thumb. That is, that is
Very accurate. Um, alright. So did Chris, did, did Tim talk about his Christmas at all? Yeah, a little bit. Yes he did. Okay. He did. Um, cool. So that's over with. Um,
Any New Year's resolutions, guys?
Yeah, let's get to that.
Shouldn't we do that in the New Year's show? And we talk about New Year's.
Isn't this the New Year's show? This the new year. This is coming
Out gonna be like a pope. We're gonna recap what we did for New Year's
And talk about our resolutions. Hey wait,
We, let's do the resolutions now. 'cause this is topical. This come at second
And I, I'm gonna, I need to call my mom more
Okay. Saying resolution. I need to call James's mom More .
You guys both do need to call her more. She, well, she'd love to hear from you Alex. Yeah.
Well
I could see that. She makes that very clear. .
I mean she makes that clear to James
like, like, like, uh, us with Alex, uh, a short term contract. You just get, re get renew
Regularly. Long term. Long term, but very performance based.
There you go. She I could tell exactly where I stand with her the second I walked through The door. Absolutely. One of her greatest and most frustrating qualities all at the same time. because she's very open and honest and upfront with where you
Stand. Alright, so we all agree we need to call Mama Hinch more. Mm-hmm .
Yep. Yep. Alex, how about you guys?
Um, my, ooh, I don't, I hadn't thought about this. You're putting me on the spot. I would say my big thing, my new, so talk about that. My new borderline addiction is Pilates. So I am gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I don't really know what the targets are 'cause I'm new at this, but like, I'm gonna continue going as my schedule will allow three times a week for the year and see where that gets me at the end of the
Year. Is that, does that, this is such a dumb question. Like, is that gonna make you more flexible? Oh yeah. Like is it it's it's like, it's like, it's like intense. It's like better than yoga, but kind of yoga ask.
Um, I wrong guy to ask. It's so, I I am inherently very unflexible. It's all drivers are. Right. I have, um, procrastinated and put it off for a, a very long time. Mm-hmm . I am very lucky to get this far with a lot of what I do and not have any injuries. But like, I don't want to keep playing that card of Yeah. A hundred percent. Oh, I, I'm, I'm unflexible yet cannot warm up and can do whatever I want and get away with it. Like, I don't, I don't want continue cashing that.
Check you that. Yeah. Right. So that's my big thing. Like, I want to be able to like grab the bottoms of my toes. Yeah. And I want to be, that'll extend my career. That'll extend my livelihood. And I just want's your
Quality of life. Yeah. I
Wanna be good at it by the end of
The year. So, so I, I'm, I'm actually gonna add that one onto my list too. Just be more flexible. I need to be more flexible. And Becky's like, tried so many times be like, just come do yoga with me or come do this. It's, I next time it's hard. There's,
There's no improvement. Like you don't, like I go, I've, I'm now on class 14. I still feel as dumb as I did on class one. Right. Like, whereas if you go to the gym for 14 days, like you're gonna see something, you feel
An improvement. Right.
Does it bother you guys that I am very flexible.
Yeah. But you're not flexible in a way that's beneficial to anyone.
It's beneficial for when I wanna put my leg behind my head.
Yeah. But that is good. Now flexible in a way that's beneficial anyone.
Right. Right. Um, there's dude, there's also, Marvin sent me this really f like, fun. By that I mean terrible video of this like workout challenge that I think you'll like. And it's also on my, I I told him I was have it. It's, it's really simple. There's a song called Bring Sally up, like bring Sally up. And it's, it's a pushup challenge. And so every time, so like you get into a pushup position every time they say, bring Sally up. You push up every time they say bring Sally down.
You go down and you hold it when you're down and you just, and you just do that. But for the whole song, it's like a three and a half minute song. And by the end of it you're like, that's hard. That's really hard. And I, I have, I've tried it twice. I've made it about just past halfway. But I told him, I was like, I will have this by Daytona because he can do it and it, it pisses me off. So I need to do that. I'll send you the link.
All right.
All right. Tim, what do you, what's your New Year's resolution?
Um, job, get a couple if I could. That'd be nice. I would like that. Not a, like a hard one though. I would like to not actually increase my workload at all. Just
Increase your income.
Yeah. Increase income would be neat. Yeah. Um, okay. I lost a lot of weight last year working out. My resolution is to keep working out more and to lose the last like 20, 25 pounds. So do you
Have, do you have a target weight or do you have like a target? I do. How
You feel. And it's about 25 pounds from here. Okay.
So, um, just outta blind curiosity, where does fried chicken fall into that plan?
Uh, it lefted my body in a hurry.
. . It was actually weight loss. Smart. Yeah. All stressed out Checkers, puking for the next
48 hours, actually
To anything to
Got it. Your body had no time to absorb any of the calories
In that one. Yeah, totally
Fine.
Totally fine. Yeah.
Uh, all right. Well that's great. I think we have a lot of great things that we're gonna accomplish in 2025. I'm excited. Um, I'm excited for us.
Can we end the show? Yeah,
We can do that. Um, it's been a
