The Tariff War Begins

Retaliatory tariffs imposed by Canada on the U.S. might cause more economic damage to Canadians than Americans. The trade war has also evolved into a war of words as Prime Minister Justin Trudeau called U.S. President Donald Trump’s tactics a “very dumb thing to do.” The Liberal Party of Canada’s leadership election will end on Sunday Mar. 9 and Mark Carney is the expected winner. His victory will also make him the next prime minister of Canada. And the Trudeau carbon tax will be hiked by 20 per cent on Apr. 1. Backbench MPs will also get around a $6,000 raise and the prime minister will get an approximately $16,000 raise on Apr. 1 as well. It seems this year the only April fools will be Canadians taxpayers footing the bill.
