You're not going to believe this, but I have not listen to secular music for over 10 years now and very often as a bible-believing preacher. I get asked this question. Can Christians Listen to non-Christian music and I thought instead of just going into the answer blind. Let's listen to the top five artists that billboard is ranked on April, the 20th, plus listen to these artists. And let's see, has music changed? And is it a safe place for Christians to listen to these
non Christian artists? Okay, let's get started. Stood number-one rap star by Polo G. So I've just finished listening to Polo G and I've never ever heard of him before. So, it was quite an educated experienced. Now, to be honest. I don't really think musics changed that much since when I was younger and I used to listen to Jay Z, or are you still listen to Young Buck, you know, a lot of swearing lot of girls,
lot of fast cars. One thing I suppose that in one way was encouragement, the same time discouraged in was he actually refers to praying to God, that he wishes he could go. Back to being, like he wasn't praying to God, but then in the next line you swearing again using the f word an awful lot. Now, he's not calling himself an atheist.
He's actually saying I call upon God, but the same time I think it could send out mixed messages to the young people that it's acceptable to swear on the Bible, actually teaches us that we should let all of our words, be seasoned, with Grace, and soul. Okay. Number two, Montero by little mass x. So it's 56 seconds in. In and I decide I'm going to stop the video if I'm completely honest with you. I feel like I could cry right now.
That was demonic, and it was satanic, taking a complete mockery of out of the Bible. The whole imagery of Satan trying to tempt Adam in the garden. There was the third eye picture. I honestly after I'm sweating. I don't feel comfortable. I feel really worried and it's concerning me because I know that that video has been at the top for a long, long time and it worries me, the amount of people
it says 149 million. People have watched that how Many Souls have been contaminated and been exposed to demonic things through watching that video. I wouldn't become too with anyone watching that so personally don't want to offend anyone. But I would say, I would avoid that singer. Okay, number three, leave the door open by Silk Sonic. So I feel a little bit more positive. Now out of the three and I've got to say that was my favorite
one so far. As far as I could hear, there was no swear words and Bruno Mars in it. They all have beautiful voices of Useful harmonies, the only criticism I might have is were they talking about outside of marriage? Because if they were obviously the Bible condemns that, but if they're talking about their wife, leaving the door open and they're going to have romance with their wife. Well, that's great.
And, that's a wonderful thing. And number four peaches by Justin Bieber. First impressions. Are this really, I just feel a bit sad a bit beaten up. So, every line basically was a swear word. There's also a referral to weed to cannabis. Why does that upset me so much. I actually have quite a soft spot for Justin Bieber. I remember seeing him as a Young Man, a little boy. If you like singing gospel songs. I remember hearing them in an interview on saying that job was his all time.
He arrived all the people in the world, the suffering. Servant job was his hero. I've heard him talk about Jesus. I know that he does want to live that Christian Life, That's What I feel. Anyway, perhaps you disagree with me, but I just think we've all the Temptations that he has the famous. The riches, the women, all of these Temptations. He has in his life. He is in some ways. He's got it a lot harder than you. And I have, when we walk down the street and no one even realizes We Exist.
So, pray for Justin. Pray that the Lord would bring him back. And number five, save your tears by the weekend. So, I've just finished listening to the weekend to save your tears, and I think out of all the videos. This one has the most views with 293 million to the date. That we're watching this on,
right? Right. Now, I feel like I need to watch the video again to process into think it through, what were the undertones, because at first, it seemed kind of harmless and just this sort of Entertainer, but then it went dark, very quickly with a gun and some quite creepy masks. What? I'd be comfortable with my children. Listening to that, probably not. But it was certainly a lot better than some of the other ones we watched earlier on.
There is one type of music that I do enjoy listening to the most and that's Christian worship. Songs and sometimes people ask me, Joe. Would you mind sharing some of the favorite songs? You have some Christian artists that I could listen to too. So, in this video, I've decided at the end of the video. I'm going to give you my favorite playlist of all of the Christian songs that I listen to on YouTube. So make sure you stick around
till then over to you. Now after everything I've seen today after everything I've heard today. What do you think? Do you think I'm going to say? It's a sin to listen to secular music. Isaac over to you personally. I still don't think it is a sin to listen to secular music, but you do need to remember this Bible verse. It says, this whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.
So here's how it works. When you became a child of God, God's spirit came and lived within you. The Bible says, your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit. God doesn't dwell in buildings made by Hands, he dwells within you and I if we are believers and we put our faith in the Lord, Jesus Christ. So when you hear a song, the Holy Spirit should convict you. He should either say this is helpful or this is terrible, get away from it. God's spirit will grieve as a certain songs when I listen to
her wrong song, a sinful song. I know, I need to turn that off. That's what the voice of God is telling me to do right now, so get away from it, but the same time when you weren't a Christian, you could listen to those. Songs quite happily and enjoy them, but then the Bible on the other hand, which now, you enjoy. Now, you get a piece from now, you know, that's what God's spirit wants you to do before, when you didn't have the spirit of God. You couldn't enjoy the Bible.
Does that make sense? So my dear friends, it's not for me to say which artist you should listen to and which you should avoid. No rather listen to the spirit of God and he will guide you into all truth. I had to remember when I was a teenager. I also struggled with this question. Jin. Should I never ever listen to non-Christian music? So I asked a friend of mine who was a bit older than me. And this was his response. He said, sometimes when he's driving to work, he saw thinks I
want to tap into the culture. I want to know what's going on in the world. So puts on a secular music station and starts listening to all of the chart music on the first day. He enjoys it. It's interesting. Yeah. I'm learning a lot. I quite like this kind of music day to comes and he starts to feel that's affecting my spirit. Not sure. I should carry on listening to this and then day 3. No, I can't listen to this any longer. And if the truth be told that's
exactly the same way. I feel when I see something at the cinema or when I hear on Godly music, I sort of feel contaminated. I sort of feel in pure. Like I know I shouldn't be listening to that. And if your conscience is calling out to you in the same way. I just plead with you do not Harden your heart. But listen just be so sensitive. It's the holy spirit because he is such a sensitive person and he will guide you into what songs you should listen to and
what songs you should avoid. Let me tell you something a little bit embarrassing about myself. I actually used to take an awful lot of drugs. And sometimes when I'm shopping in a supermarket with my wife, I'll hear songs psychedelic songs that I used to listen to when I used to get high and you know, what's crazy, even all these years later, when I hear that song. Memories come back into my mind and my flesh almost longs to go
back into that sin. Once again, he see, music can be dangerous because music bypasses the mind and it goes right down into the inner being and touches our emotions and draws us out into different things. Again, something very embarrassing about myself when I back slid. Do you know what? One of the things that enabled me to backslide was dance music music that I saw. She ate it with nightclubs. And again, when I heard dance music on the radio, it made me want to go back to those
nightclubs. It made me want to go back and party thinking I'm missing out on sin. I'm missing out on fun, but I wasn't missing out on anything. And what did the devil done? He'd use, those sort of seducing sounds to Lead Me Away into sin. Now, I do actually want to apologize to you. I've been very, very negative about music all the way through this video, but let's not forget. Something absolutely.
Crucial music is a tremendous gift from God, all the way through the Bible. We read about people, singing, the Angels Sing, the heavens, sing creation, sings Paul, and Silas when they were locked up in prison. What did they do? They began to sing the people of Israel seeing? And what does God tell you? And I to do, he commands us to sing a new song to the Lord to him. You see what God wants us to do. Is he wants us to be happy. He Answers to rejoice and sing
songs of worship to him. And if you're ever been attacked in your mind, perhaps with depression, perhaps with temptation to know what you should do. You should sing because the devil and his demons are terrified. When you start singing, Praise songs, the Lord Jesus Christ, they Scuttle off like cockroaches to when the light is turned on. So my dear friends, what am I going to tell you to do before
you end this video? I want you to sing and I'm going to go away and I need to do some singing too, but Obviously off camera, in case I scare some of you away from this channel forever. So without further Ado, if you'd like to hear the songs that I like to sing, too. And my favorite Christian artist, please click this playlist here and have a look through some of those. And if you haven't yet subscribed, please do click
here. We'd love your friendship, here, off the curve Ministries. God bless you all, and thank you for watching.
