Transcript

There was a a pasta and his car broke down and so he decided I need to get the bus to work today. So we got on the bus and I don't know how much it cost but let's say the the bus driver said it's £3.00 please 3 English pounds which would be worth about two 250 in dollars. So he he he gave the money over to the bus driver so he gave him a £5 note. And then what did the bus driver do? The bus driver gave him £20 back in change and the pastor just took the money and sat at the

back of the bus at the back. He's he's, he's in a kind of turmoil going through his mind thinking what should I do about this? I mean those bus companies, they're huge. They're not going to miss this, this money. And you know, money is a little bit tight at the moment. I could really do with that, that little bit of extra money to help fix my car for those bills that are going to come through.

Anyway, when his stop arrived, he got off the bus and he looked at the bus driver and he said, Sir, you do realize that you gave me 20 lbs interchange. You gave me far too much money. And the bus driver smiled at him and said, I know exactly how much money I gave to you. You see, Sir, I recognized you when you got on the bus. I've been listening to your sermons online, and I wanted to know if Christians are really honest friends. The reality is this.

There's many people out there and they won't read this book in my hands, but they'll read the book of your life. There's many people who want to see Is your Christianity the real deal? Do you really mean it, That Jesus Christ is precious to you and you want to live out what he says and obey his commands? So perhaps you've never done this before, but I'm going to ask you to do something. I think every single one of you needs to take a pen and a piece

of paper. You need to write out certain principles, certain things that you know you should hold to as a Christian. If you're seeking to be a man of God or a woman of God, you need to have these and you need to hold to them. Because let's be honest, in this culture that we live in, you can't lie to me. You can't pretend that this culture hates this book. In my hands, it hates the God of the Bible, the God who created

them. And they will do everything to try and make you, to grind you down, to make you stop believing in the gospel. We've got communities, we've got ideologies, we've got employees, we've got friends, we've got family members who will all try to make you waver on your principles, but you must not waver. As Elijah said to the people of Israel, choose this day who you will serve. If the Lord is God, we'll serve him. But if Baal is God, well, then

serve him. And so often, we need to not jeopardize the things, the beliefs that we hold. We need to stand on them and not waver. And let us all be men and women of conviction. Now we'll say this. If you do pick out some principles and if they are rooted in the word of God, know this. They might just cost you everything. You've heard of David and Bathsheba. Of course you have. I know you have. You know the story. Well, there was a man, a king of Israel, David, and he saw a

beautiful woman. The Bible doesn't pretend she was beautiful. And David saw that woman and he wanted her. So what did he do? Because he was the king of Israel, he could do anything he wanted. So he had his servants come and bring that woman, Bathsheba to him and he had relations with that woman. Now Bathsheba is rather quiet in this section of scripture, but she says 2 words. What does she say? I'm pregnant.

So in other words, David had another baby that was going to come through this woman and David went into panic mode like we often do when our sin is uncovered. We we get scared and we we drive all these things into our minds and we're blind to everyone else. And we only think about preserving self. So what did David do? He thought, if I can get Bathsheba's husband Uriah to go in and be with his wife, then no one will be able to tell that this is my baby.

Everyone will just think it's Uriah's child. So he called Uriah. Now Uriah, this is the important bit. Uriah was a mighty warrior. He was a soldier and he called Uriah to the palace and he said, Uriah, I want you to do something for me now. We need to go home, and I want you to spend some time with your wife. This is what Uriah replied. This is what he said back to David, and Uriah said to David.

The Ark and Israel and Judah are dwelling in tents, and my Lord Joab and the servants of my Lord are encamped in the open fields. Shall I then go to my house to eat and drink and go on, he goes on to saying, and be with my wife? How can I do that? In other words, this man Uriah was a man of principle and he was saying I'm not going to choose my pleasures over my duty to my fellow kinsmen, to my fellow soldiers. No, my heart should be with

them. I have principles and I will stand with them whilst they are are in a difficult time. I can't go off and just have some fun. No, I need to be serious right now. But David was persistent and he said come on now. OK, OK, I tell you what, you're right. Come and eat at my table, have some lovely food with me and have something to drink. And David kept filling up Uriah's glass over and over again until what happened? Uriah got drunk. And then again David repeated

himself. Go now, go and be with your wife. Go and spend some time with her. And what did Uriah say? Well, instead of going to be with his wife, he went and he found a door where all of the soldiers were sleeping. And he went and he led down and he slept with those men on the floor, on guard, waiting in case some kind of trouble should come to him and his men. Why is that so moving? Because here is a man who's drunk. He has very little inhibitions.

His mind is not sound. And yet that man who was drunk had more principles. And the king of all of Israel and friends, you and I need to be like Uriah. Our principles must go so deep inside of us that no matter what circumstance comes before us, we stand on them. And we are immovable. Nothing can shake us because we stand on them. There was another person in the Bible, and you know who I'm going to mention now?

The Lord Jesus Christ. And Jesus was someone who knew that his principles would cost him everything. His Father. It was his will for him to go to the cross. His Father wanted him to go to the cross. And Christ laid down his life willingly as a sacrifice for you and me. Because we cannot earn our way to heaven. We are not saved by any good work that we can do. It is only the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ that can wash away our sins. And Christ knew that.

He knew he was the innocent one, and he knew what he had to do. And yet on the cross many people said to him, come on, just prove yourself. Bring yourself down from that cross if you really are God, come on, send lots of angels to to save yourself. And Jesus knew that within a second I could call all these angels to come, and I'd be delivered from this horrible death that I was about to do at

those worst points. When the nails were there, when he was being spats on, when, when the wrath of God was poured out on him, He could have just turned away. He could have left it, but he didn't. Why? The Bible tells us why. I'll show you, Hebrews 12, verse two says, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him, endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

You see, he saw that there was a joy in keeping this principle. He knew that the joy was he was going to bring a people to himself, a people that would come and worship the Lord Jesus Christ, worship him and his Father, be there with the Trinity, worshipping them for all of eternity. You and I would be there one day with him. And even though all of the shame was there and all the pain was there, he stood on that principle. I've said I will go to the cross.

When I was up in heaven, my spirit said I would step into a body because I needed a body to save all the bodies on earth. I needed to take on a flesh so that I might be the Saviour of all flesh that has gone the way of Adam, that has gone and fallen away from God. I knew I had to sacrifice myself, and he stood on that principle and he did it. And right now I'm sitting before you as a man who was rotten in

all of his sin. But I've been saved by Jesus because Jesus did not go back on his word. And you, I think probably you're watching this video. You're probably a Christian too. And you also have been saved because Jesus did not go back on his words. So I wonder, will you go back on your word? Will you be a man or woman of principles?

Or will you follow the almighty God even though it will cost you greatly, but you know you'll be rewarded, just like Christ was rewarded, just like I believe Uriah will be rewarded in paradise with the Lord. And I believe that you and I will be rewarded if we honour God. Because the Bible says those who honour me, I will also honour them. I don't know if you what you think of these videos. These are my sort of Christian

videos. I started out on off the Curb Ministries if you want to know the story. I made videos St. preaching videos where I was just basically sharing my faith on the streets. And then eventually I came to the point where I started making videos for Christians. And then in 2020, when we're all stuck indoors and my channel blew up and those are the kind of videos I made. And then I realised I am an evangelist at heart and I should be making videos for

unbelievers. So I went back to that on my channel. And then a lot of people were kind of like, oh, Joe, I miss your old videos where you're a Christian. I don't care about celebrities. I don't care about all of these, you know, crazy things like the deepest holes or and, you know, different things that are happening in the world. I'm not bothered about that. Just give me the word of God, Joe.

So I thought I should start making videos on this channel that you're on now that are just for Christians. And so really, that's what this video's about. And they're very much unscripted. We're very just sort of talking to you heart to heart with very little editing. And I just want you to tell me how you're finding these things. I can edit these videos more if you want and and keep them as Christian messages.

I just want to know how you're feeling about it all and if you're interested, perhaps you've seen what, what? What are you sitting on, Joe? Well, I came here and I didn't realise that it was all going to be very wet. And here's another interesting fact for you about my week. My wife has washed about 3 pairs of jeans this week and one of my little babies. I was holding my little baby girl and you can imagine what she did on me. And then there's been various other reasons why my pants have

got dirty this week. I can't remember why. I think we went somewhere really dirty and got them all muddy. Anyway, I thought, I cannot get these jeans muddy today. I can't get these dirty. So I realised I had some tracks in my pocket and I thought, well I'll sit on the tracks.

I know that's not very good use of them, but don't forget Black Friday's coming up and I wrote this track to a couple of years ago and it goes to the gospel where Jesus Christ as you know, he died on a Black Friday as the light of the world went out, as darkness fell on the land. On that Friday, Jesus died for us and yet this deal is free. I'd really love it if you get some of these and give them out to your family and friends on the 24th of November this year, Black Friday.

If you're watching this in the future, they'll still be available at at tenofthose.com. None of us get any money from this. Ten of those doesn't get any money. I don't get any money for it. We just want you to give out the gospel. So maybe this was the Lord trying to get me to to plug these tracks if you like. So please get hold of these.

And if you want to see more videos where I'm sort of just talking to Christians in a rather sort of casual manner like this where we can just talk about all kinds of things, just check out this video here. It might just bless you too. God bless you all and thank you for watching.
