Episode description

An Odyssey Sound Session with Orla Gartland.

The Dublin-born, London-based singer, songwriter and producer began writing songs when she was 14 years old. Since then, Orla Gartland has built a passionate fanbase online and toured around the world, including playing major festivals like Glastonbury and Latitude. She’s recently released her new album ‘Everybody Needs A Hero’, an exploration into all the facets of a romantic relationship. The album’s deeply introspective songwriting alongside its clever production lends itself to the ‘existential pop’ she loves. In this episode Orla talks to Roxy about creating the record, and the songwriters that have inspired her to be vulnerable in her music.
