Old Alton Bridge was built in 1884 to connect Denton with the rest of the county seat. But the story of the Goatman is much older. Oscar Washburn was a respected goatherder until the KKK got wind of his success. He may have escaped being lynched, but his family paid the ultimate price. Is Old Alton Bridge haunted by Washburn's vengeful spirit? Or is the specter even older than that? This week, my childhood friend Andy and I discuss our hometown legend.
