Dr. Ryan, today I want to talk to you about how God's plan in your life prevails. This proverb 1921 says, many are the plans in a person's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails. Let's break this down. We have a lot of plans and a lot of ideas for our life. This word refers to the different thoughts that we can have about our life. I'm going to do this. I'm going to do that. I'm going to go here. I'm going to go there. We have a lot of thoughts, a lot of wild thoughts about life.
Plans also means this word devices. This is interesting. We come up with platforms and devices for what we're going to do with our life. It's really interesting. Another word to describe this word plans is inventions. Boy, have we all invented a lot of things that we shouldn't have with our life. How does God take all of the plans that we have? By the way, a lot of them aren't good. A lot of our thoughts, a lot of our devices, a lot of our inventions and our ideas, they're not from God.
How does God weave all this together? How does God draw straight with our crooked lines? This verse provides so much hope. Many are the plans. We've had a lot of thoughts, a lot of devices, and a lot of intentions in a person's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails. Okay. Ryan, what you're telling me is that all of my crooked plans, God can draw a straight line with and he can prevail in my life?
Yes. So, when we say prevails, what we mean here is that God will maintain a purpose in your life. God will help you to endure through all of the difficulties, all the times that you want to quit, all the times that you want to give up. God will help you to establish your life and your future if you hold on to him one day at a time. The great test of life is that life tries to break us. It tries to destroy us.
It tries to tear us down and take our courage and take our boldness and take our dreams and take our hopes because we stick to our plans. Now when we get tired of our plans, when we get tired of our thoughts, tired of our devices, and tired of our inventions, then we're ready for God to prevail in our life. Then we say, God, please maintain your plan for my life. God help me to endure for your plan in my life. God please establish your plan in my life.
God help me to persist with your plan for my life. And then lastly, God make binding your plan for my life. You see, our plans don't work. When we understand that and we trust God, then his plan starts to prevail. So our plans fail, God's plan prevails. Has to do with trust. Has to do with focus. Has to do with perseverance. Has to do with never quitting. Never quitting or giving up. I hope this is an encouragement to you. Until next time, I hope you have a beautiful day.
