Today's guest is one of the NYPD's most decorated members. The former detective sergeant has survived several gun battles, earning him the combat cross and two medals for valor. In addition to his undercover work as a NYC transit cop, he headed the Bronx homicide nightwatch unit.

Sergeant Friedman has investigated over a hundred incidents of people struck by subway trains.

After stopping a robbery off duty, Sergeant Friedman was shot and carries the bullet inside him to this day.
