Former President Jimmy Carter's state funeral is scheduled for Jan. 9, following his passing at the age of 100. President Joe Biden will deliver the eulogy at the Washington National Cathedral. He has also declared Jan. 9 a national day of mourning.

Biden announced that the United States will send an additional $2.5 billion in military aid to Ukraine. The package includes $1.25 billion in presidential drawdown authority, as his administration works swiftly to spend all available funds.
